are the sapping works beneath the roman siege towers in this episode? that delayed the siege a little bit, but the sapping works also had the unintended effect of weakening the foundations of the defenders walls/
In order to have multi-ethnic, you must have a unifying force. The Roman Legions, and Rome in general, was very interesting in that regard. If the West was still allowed to be proud of their accomplishments, we would probably have less of a problem with diversity today.
imagin you are a roman solider preparing to charge the city and then you see 2 dudes and a cripple charging the engines despite the fact they got 38 arrows inside of them
How did those Roman troops manage to march long enough to subdue allll those revolting cities and still have the energy to then deal with the Jews? The Romans were legit immortal. The Romans were the Chinese of battle.
Do I really believe the Romans would let 3 dudes (including a cripple) get through their lines and then light up their siege engines? Did they maybe have Molotovs and Ronsons in addition to weapons and armor? Awesome video as usual, but that story is lore at best.
I think its pretty plausible if you consider that there was likely a lot of support from ranged units firing from above and the target of the raid was probably on one of the siege ramps which meant it was more exposed than usual
Invicta True, yet it’s hard to believe that the engines and all the work they represented wouldn’t have been defended commensurate with the threats they faced. Yet 3 rag tags got close enough to each to burn them all down? It strains credulity.
@@ewc58 The point is that the Jews were kamikazes, and the Romans weren't expecting it. The Romans would be defending against a sortie, not three randos sprinting up like greased pigs not concerned with survival. I don't think humans understand suicidal actors very well, they don't do what you would expect. So I can see this happening. Am I 100% sure? No, but that's true of almost all history, especially this far back. But without evidence to disbelieve it, I will choose to believe it. After all, truth can often be stranger than fiction.
They would have needed some sort of combustable oil, and definately it'd be a suicide mission. Buy with some luck and the element of surprise I don't find it unbelivable. Maybe there were more than three though, and Josephus only wrote down the ones who's names he knew? It sounds cooler with three guys taking out a siege engine each than a sortie of 50 kamikazes doing it I guess?

Go back to Arabia!
And also Jihad was the thing that got many jews killed, in muslim countries pogroms in Jews were fairly common and expolsion of jews was also very common.
@@couchpotatoe91 Actually there were jewish kingdoms in Israel 2500 years ago.
Judean kingdom, Israel kingdom (not ro be confused with moden day Israel)
The Hasmonian kingdom, the Maccabees kingdom and probably a few more im unaware of.
Jews were only spread across the world after the siege of Jerusalem by the Romans and the expolsion of jews from our land.
That is how jews got everywhere on the globe, some were sold to slavery, some ran, some joined Rome but the jews still survived, and now 2000 years later the boys are back in town.
*2019, The Jews* : Romans, where you at?
@EmperorJuliusCaesar
Shut up, Julius, you're dead.
I was watching Masada before all the commercials and the switch to another story.
Amazing how prophecies come to pass.
What?
@@theshadowofsiege7559 Read the bible if you wish to know
Yes
@EmperorJuliusCaesar And that blind heathens believe they know anything about the spirit world? Hitchens and Dawkins were just useful idiots, but now they know.
Man it would be amazing if you could do a video on the Great Siege of Malta (1565) or the two Sieges of Rhodes (Ottomans vs. Knights of St. John). They are sieges as epic as Jerusalem! (And Jerusalem is epic as heck!).
@@islamisthetruth3402 weren't*
@@islamisthetruth3402 i mean this video itself used a biased source, history is always biased, and in the case of malta it wasn't very biased since ottomans were basically preparing for an all out assault on them to serve as a foothold and launch platform to rome
@@islamisthetruth3402 did you even knw the reason as to why the ottomans would take malta? Oh yeah since they could easily garrison there so they can invade sicily and then rome and possibly into the rest of italy, a feat shown in ww2 when that same tactic was used against fascist italy, aswell as the fact that malta harboured alot of cursaders that attack ottomans in jerusalem the place christians want, and that the maltese were going viking on lands that they originally owned
That's the most epic shit I've ever seen. Movies really don't have a thing on history, do they?
are the sapping works beneath the roman siege towers in this episode? that delayed the siege a little bit, but the sapping works also had the unintended effect of weakening the foundations of the defenders walls/
Rome's multi ethnic armies is something very interesting.
In order to have multi-ethnic, you must have a unifying force. The Roman Legions, and Rome in general, was very interesting in that regard. If the West was still allowed to be proud of their accomplishments, we would probably have less of a problem with diversity today.
@AlastrionaCatskill He mean enforce European culture and norm on migrants,as it is said "When in Rome be a Roman".
imagin you are a roman solider preparing to charge the city and then you see 2 dudes and a cripple charging the engines despite the fact they got 38 arrows inside of them
Tremendous!

Nice
Can you do the siege of Carthage?
Any hopes for the art becoming downloadable wallpapers, Invicta?
I make that available for patrons at the "digital" tier and above
invicta what is your view on Simon Bar Giora being supposedly crucified in the guises of Jesus ?
he wasnt crucified but they replaced Yeshua's image with his and its floating all over the Earth.
I love ancient roman history...AVE ROMA👍
Epic gamer moments in history
How did those Roman troops manage to march long enough to subdue allll those revolting cities and still have the energy to then deal with the Jews? The Romans were legit immortal. The Romans were the Chinese of battle.
One word, Logistics
Deep pockets
Logistics and planning. The Romans also had professional soldiers who trained specifically for this. It was their livelihoods, their careers.
No mention of Yohanan Ben Zakkai?
@@shorewall Really huh? Those randos (including a cripple) would've had to be Rambos :-)
They would have needed some sort of combustable oil, and definately it'd be a suicide mission. Buy with some luck and the element of surprise I don't find it unbelivable.
Maybe there were more than three though, and Josephus only wrote down the ones who's names he knew?
It sounds cooler with three guys taking out a siege engine each than a sortie of 50 kamikazes doing it I guess?
how many heroes can they field in one turn??
Waht armour and equipment did the judean forces have?
you can get alot of arms in the middle of a lake with the right connections.
omg what is that mod for the roman soldier skins
I would really like to see some more personal every day history if you can. military history is fine, but I find the every day lives of people to be much more interesting.
