Saw this movie yesterday. I went into the theatre without expecting much since it's a DC movie, but I came out with my mind blown. Very fun, very entertaining, beautiful world building and superb action sequences.
The action, oh my god, is like Batman's Warehouse fight in BvS, that level of quality in every fight. It isn't just brute force and power, it actually portrays skill between the fighters. Nicole Kidman and Amber Heard actually killed it, powerful female action leads, like you wouldn't believe. Patrick Wilson as Orm, the best fighter there, not a great villain, but the best warrior. Loved the Ending of the movie, not the cliche villain forces the hero to kill him or kills himself kind of thing. It's simply awesome...
I hope they keep this up! In my opinion, they should wait a few years before planning a sequel, take their time with the plot and build the universe from there...
@HenryDavidT: I was thinking more like Incredibles 2. Strong plot will elevate the universe.
Sequels like Guardians of Galaxy 2 or Ant Man 2 will screw up the universe's value...
You are right they should take time just like what they did with this movie. Even if its 2 hrs and 35 mins long there is no down time. However, I am really excited for the sequel so I truly wish that they are starting as early as now. Watched it on IMAX twice and its really good even in second time 💖💕
I cant say orm (ocean master) is villain here, he supposedly on neutral side, the true villain is black manta but they will use it for sequel

Wow when my dad and sister watched it I was blown away by the action including Mera I was like she is stunning in green Atlantean armour plus water control? 10/10.
I always see Patrick Wilson as a ghost/demon hunter, if that’s what his role in Conjuring and Insidious😂😂

I was definitely surprised to see the references from our current world problems. Chemical pollutions, dumping wastes in the open sea, and marine creatures gets killed from eating plastic. All these are real.
I really wish I could understand the language of marine creatures. It would be awesome to have this as my super power 😄

i just wonder if they will pull a thor and loki type deal..bring patrick back once and awhile as a semi pro/antagonist while he has less reason to hate aquaman now that he can no longer blame him for the mother's death they still saw things very differently so i have no doubt orm will be seen again. In fact Patrick is the best villain DC has at the moment so they would be mad not to reuse him later on. Manta was underwhelming. Steppenwolf was both underwhelming and defeated. Zod is dead.

She looks different then the one in the movie
She shoukd be. All of them should be because they are like different from the surface dwellers. Atleans like Queen Atllanna and Mera should even Vulko looks young. They are like amazonian in themyscira. They can be killed but they are almost like immortal. Plus the fact that during their film shooting Durector James Wan splash a real water to these actors whilst they were hanging in harness. As you know human skin texture change if they are always wet plus the visual effects so yes 3 of them should look young and thats how it should supposed to be at least in my opinion.
I think this movie did the women empowerment in the right way. It gave very important roles and portrayed the women as strong characters. Most importantly they didn't shove the feminism deeply in our throats like captain marvel.
Maheshwaran P truth, Mera wasn't portrayed as a damsel in distress but someone who is strong and doesn't need someone saving her 24/7, this is what I love about DC and their female superheroes
