These were some of the finest songs from Madam Noor Jehan that I used to listen on PTV in 90s. She was the biggest artist of India before partition and then Pakistan.

We are shocked that you had not listened or watched Noor Jehan's songs until today.Great video and reaction. She was a unique singer in the subcontinent. It's unfortunate that due to the bad relations between India and Pakistan, Indian music lovers missed listening and watching live shows by Madam Noor Jehan. Especially it was a great loss for the Indian Punjab because she was a Punjabi and most of her songs were Punjabi, and many of her songs were copied by both Bollywood and the East Punjabi Artists (without giving credit). Madam sag some of the most difficult music compositions but Indians have not been aware of it due to the lack of cultural tours, exchanges, and interactions between the two countries. Also there was no UA-cam service available. The experts of Indian music and film industries, including singers and Music Directors have been knowledgeable about Noor Jehan and other Pakistani Artists, but kept it from Indian public so that they can copy the content and get away with it. Artists like Lakhwinder, Wadali,Sachin Ahuja, and Malkit Singh are huge fans of Madam. When you watch Reality Shows like Voice of Punjab, the contestants sing many Pakistani Punjabi songs, but they don't give proper credit. Therefore Indians think they are enjoying the Indian songs. Please do longer videos on Noor Jehan and Mehdi Hassan. Thanks

The title "Queen of Melody" was given before 1947 during British India
Correction: she was given the title Queen of Melody in India not in Pakistan. After Zeenat movie, she was given that title for the songs she sang, I think it was bulbulon mat roh.
She was a Bollywood superstar before she came to Pakistan. She had worked in films with Dilip Kumar

Great presentation but I wonder why you used Madhubala visual for the first song ‘Aaja Meri Barbad Mohabbat’ as it’s from Anmol Ghadi (1946) and Noor Jehan was the actress as well as the singer. ‘Chalo Acha Hua’ is from the film Lakhon Mein Ek (1967), the scene you have shown is when Noor Jehan sung this again for the Tarranum programme. Same with the Ja We Ja Jhootiya, this is also a film song. For ‘Aye Puttar Hattan Te Nahi Vikde’ this was originally sung in 1965 also. The Queen of Melody, Malika-e-Tarranum title was actually given to her in 1944/45 in Bombay after the film Zeenat (1945) in which she acted and sung.
