Talented is an understatement, Brilliance is the correct way to address DJ QUIK I'm glad I was a teenager in the 90s you couldn't imagine the nostalgic vibes listening to music from back then if you didn't experience it. Gold Times.
David is the the perfect représentation of the hood son gangsters un the only who can be soulish to Quik is the man 👌from Algeria same level as prince rodger the mad scientist for reel
*Eastside Low Bottoms shit !* I just listened to this about 10 times in a row... *LITERALLY !* I just recently discovered this. I remember hearing a lil snippet of it on the Visualism DVD that came out around 2004 (i still own it, and it's still in new condition !). It was only about 10 seconds or so. I'd rewind that lil part over and over just to hear it. I had no idea that a full instrumental existed...I FEEL CHEATED that i missed out on it for so long. Every time I replay it, I'm listening for something different...if it's not that cold ass bass line, it's the different snares, or the lil sounds in the background, or the synthesizer-thing in the "hook", or the...DAMMIT, THIS SHIT IS HARD AS FEEEZUCK ! Q is HANDS DOWN the coldest and the flyest producer/rapper/engineer/poet/philosopher/curator of energy to ever, and i mean EVER bless a mic...EVER i said ! I dug his music since Quik Is The Name, but Rythmalism made me a bonafied, "ain't-no-turnin'-back-now-nigga" fan ! The first time i heard We Still Party, i KNEW it was a done deal ! #QDaGreat
*Dubcnn: We’ve heard of this track called “Swallow Me” and we heard it on “One On One,” on the intro, remember that?* DJ Quik: Oh, (starts singing it) Y’all heard that? *Dubcnn: Yeah, we’ve heard the instrumental, but we never heard the actual song* DJ Quik: Yeah, I buried it! *Dubcnn: So was it just not that good?* DJ Quik: (Laughs) No, it wasn’t that it wasn’t that good, the music was trippy. *Dubcnn: Yeah, I love that instrumental. It’s awesome.* DJ Quik: Thank you. The lyrics were just too misogynistic, and, whenever I get a wrinkle from a girl’s face like (raises eyebrow), if I see this shit, it’s not sexy. But if this goes up ,(smiles), and this doesn’t move *points to eyebrow*, then it’s a good record. I read facial expressions. That was one that the girls didn’t really dig, but they liked “One On One.” Both of those records were the same, like “One On One” and “Stroke Me,” whatever it was called, they were one record, it was a seven minute thing. And I just went ahead and cut it in half. *Dubcnn: Oh so that’s why we hear it at the beginning?* DJ Quik: Yeah, that’s why you hear it fading in at the beginning.
@BK2160 It's very similar but different at the same time, I've even asked Robert "Fonksta" Bacon if he played the guitar on this but he said he doesn't know anything about this song.
I want to hear it as well. But I remember him saying that the lyrics were too misogynistic- which is funny coming from him), in an interview on Dubcnn.

Davizz, your name is synonymous with DJ Quik on the web my dude.
Good to see this up!
It's from TV series "Method & Red" (2004), Quik made a little funny guest appearance.
This would be the perfect beat to the remix if you stay ready by Suga Free.
@BK2160 It's very similar but different at the same time, I've even asked Robert "Fonksta" Bacon if he played the guitar on this but he said he doesn't know anything about this song.
