- Girolamo Frescobaldi est un compositeur italien du XVII ème siècle (1583-1643) ... Cet air n'est bien sûr donc pas destiné à être joué au ukulélé. Je m'excuse donc par avance à tous les baroqueus qui tomberont là-dessus, s'il y en a !
Je joue sur mon très beau nouveau ukulélé, un Da Silva en acajou, inspiré des Martins style 3.
Girolamo Frescobaldi is an italian composer from the XVII th century (1583-1643) ... Therefore this piece was NOT written for the ukulele, as you can imagine. So I apologize in advance for all the early music players who might stumble upon this !
I am playing my brand new beautiful Da Silva ukulele. It is in mahogany, inspired by Style 3 Martins.

I think that Frescobaldi would really like this, if he could've heard it (very good sense of the style!)
I have to admit this is the best version I could find on UA-cam. Also, I believe you would find that early baroque music was indeed performed in such similar ways. Especially baroque cantatas. Another bonus to it all is your voice, which is perfect for late renaissance/early baroque :)
I think hopefully any early music student stumbling upon this will remember that the ukulele has an ancestor in the four course renaissance guitar. The tone is closer to the vihuela but I think Frescobaldi would have appreciated it considering he liked to play the vulgar guitar himself.
This is how music should be made: simple, passionate and with lots of fun! Lovely.

Ukulele is very close to renaissance guitar - similar re-entrant tuning (also "in la" like your ukulele), similar size and measure. Sounds stylish!

Very appropriate given citterns and so on in barber shops - and that this a popular song. Look also at l'Arpeggiata using a Venezuelan cuatro in substantially the same tuning
