Hello from Canada Sage. Not knowing the Australian coast to well. Can you, if possible in your video to show a map of the coast you are in. I would like follow your adventure with Google maps.
@1:11 he said he was sailing to Southport (-27.971566, 153.422549) from Brunswick Heads (-28.535089, 153.545848), I included the approximate lat and long for both locations so you can drop those co-ordinates in and see the general area's, it's a really pretty coast line and I hope you get to see it for yourself one day.
Absolutely fantastic video looks really good fun out there we’ve got a 35 foot boat up on the Norfolk Broads UK I wish it was like your neck of the woods great mermaids as well have a good year guys
Great video dude! How much power drain does your auto pilot put on your battery bank? What do you have for a battery bank and solar charging? Have you updated it any?
Your Davits didn’t look like they were originally davits, but more like a dodger placed aft to act like a set of davits. I have a pair that I never installed built by MarTek out of Florida still brand new sitting in my storage trailer along side my wind-generator and solar panels. I will use them some day on another boat.
I suspect the autogenerated subtitles you see on many video's struggled with the Australian accent, your English is better than you gave yourself credit for, your comment was nearly perfect English (better than my wife's)
@@daveamies5031 My English is generated by the Google translator. I don't think it's a problem of accents because it happens with all types of English but rather that subtitles are not activated when a video is published
@@giovanniallegro3790 Haha I use google translate to read a lot, never saw it generate english that well before (maybe it's easier from Italian than Chinese) As for the subtitles, I never posted a video so don't know how that works.
The job you did securing your davids ain't your best work mate. Bit shoddy. The wood that the aluminium pole goes into is only as strong as the screws that are holding it in to the decking...couldn't make out what kind of screws you were using but that didn't look stainless steel so these would rust out in a year. I would have used bolts to secure it as those screws could easily pull out. But should be alright if you're not placing too much weight on it. Good luck. PS: why do you keep referring to "us". as in "Nick is helping us". Who is the 'us'?
nothing better for an old bloke then to see a young fella having a go. Keep on trucking young man
So good, I love seeing what can be done with just determination and an adventurous spirit!

Thank you
