I've always wanted a "SHOW BANGERS ONLY" filter in Lightroom. It looks like this might be the next best thing!
Wow, this is insane!
As an event photographer, culling is my most time-consuming task.
I already use Photo Mechanic for the simple reason that it doesn't need to load Previews as Lightroom does.
The AI automatic baching is something very interesting, will definitely download it and give it a try!
Thanks a lot for helping your cousin (and us) out, Daniel :)
wow. This is really interesting and potentially game-changing. I'm excited to check it out.
Literally sitting in my photography class ignoring the class to watch this video hahah
While I technically don't condone this I ended up teaching people in my photography class more than the professor 😬😬
Tried it and was impressed by how fast you can see each photo, without having to wait for the images to fully load like in lightroom. Also it does the same stuff of photomechanic, even the free version is worth it.
This was such an interesting video. Even though I don't do weddings I can totally see it being useful for a large commercial shoot in the future. Kudos to your cuz for making such an amazing software.
The auto grouping feature is amazing!
I've been putting off trying Photo Mechanic because of the price point so I will absolutely be checking this out!
100 usd is a lot but I understand the amount of love that went into this. I'll think about this when I get more serious.
Also, I don't understand the benefit of culling. You say it makes culling "all the easier", but you don't say how or demonstrate it in the lager workflow. In a shoot with 1000+ photos, there might be nearly no difference between two photos, but one could still be worlds better (slight change in lighting, expression, eye direction, etc.) Why would I want to effectively 'hide' similar pix? And once they are grouped (required for auto-culling BTW) what do I do with them? I have to click into each group and cull from there?? Seems like I'm just creating a ton of smaller buckets to have to click in and still work through...
Woahhh...this is something else. I can’t wait to try this when I get home. I’ll gladly throw down $99 if it speeds up my work flow. Thanks for yet another stellar video. Cheers
When you buy the software, will you have access to the next versions of the software for free ? I don’t want to be an early adopter and pay the software multiple times (at the beginning there is always bugs and things to improve, that’s normal).
It seems very promising though!
wow... that's neat!!!
Can you say if there are plans to evolve the software and what would be the ideas on it?
if you have input on what you’d like to see, send it our way and we can forward it over to patrick 👍
Wait, today isn't Monday, but I'm all for surprises. Love this chunk of knowledge!
Awesome. Thanks for the tip. Am going to try it out right now!
This is fucking DOOOOOOOPE. Side note did you see bad boys for life? I’ve been cursing will all morning I’m so pissed. When you see the mavic with the machine guns turn it off lol.
Just found this as I'm looking for culling in Luminar AI. Will this software export to Luminar AI? Thanks
Wait Thursday is the new Monday? hmm two mango street videos this week. I am not mad at all
I'm a new Optyx user, and so far I'm not loving it. The previews are definitely faster, but there's no "reject" shortcut (x in Lightroom). I have to use Shift+P and there appears no way to change the keyboard shortcuts. When I do use Shift+P, I still then have to manually click to the next image instead of auto-forwarding. So while the previews are fast, manual culling in Optyx has its drawbacks.
i’ve never needed to reject - only tag/flag my selects, so not something i have issue with.
@Mango Street Can the autogrouping feature recognize text within memes? I'm looking for an AI program that can group the thousands of meme images i have into folders that share similar topics.
Holy shit..... This is amazing!!1!!!! Thanks for sharing and thank you to your cousin and the amazing team behind Optyx
Tried it with first a bunch of jpegs, which didn't work. Then dngs - interesting and worth delving more into. I am not such a big fan of xmps, and Optyx placed an xmp for each dng in the folder. I'd appreciate that the app placed the informations in the raws.
Very cool, I’ll try it, seems fine on the privacy side too
Jheeeez this is what I need !!
You can upload these into an existing catalog as well right? I prefer to use one catalog
Might be useful for sequential capture that produces a couple of hundred similar images, such as a bird in flight, so paid version only option, all things being equal. I would prefer a free week or more of the full deal, so to test its functionality.
Tried to load and both windows and my antivirus shut it down. Ain't loading it! One try was ok, but when my independent security software "disinfects" my system, well, it isn't going onto my computer.
Was wondering if you guys could shed light on the filming of an American Football music video.
I remember that was brought up casually once in your video (channel overview?) and i was amazed and no further details were shared
@@MangoStreet wicked nonetheless! are those posted anywhere easily accessible?
Shame that Patrick decided to make V2 subscription-only :(
The music sounds like an instrumental to Kendrick Lamar's "Institutionalized (feat. Bilal, Anna Wise & Snoop Dogg)
just download now, having trouble installing, clicking the page support tab. tab not working.
@@MangoStreet the installer stated an error. i'll email them now. thanks anyway. luv you guys
How well do you think this will work with wildlife photographs?
Hiya Manish! Optyx founder here 👋wildlife photos should still take advantage of sharpness and exposure autoculling and I've done a fair amount of wildlife processing Optyx myself, but the facial expression and open eyes detection probably isn't going to be adding any value here ;)
@@PatrickHulce Thanks. Will definitely try this out on my next trip. Will let you know how it goes.
Bridge is also good imo
Well i really miss you guys go out and do photoshoots❤
this is a bonus video - tune in monday for our favorite photoshoot so far this year 😏
woah.... this is rad!
Gonna have to give this a whirl.
Gamechanger
Love it
tried to load a bunch of PNGs and nothing happens, disappointing
Its great
shame its now gone to a subscription model
WOW!!!
Doesnt seem to work with a6400 raw
Hiya Jaye! Optyx founder here 👋We just released a feature over the weekend to link with Adobe's free DNG converter for processing RAW formats we can't handle yet. Would love another chance if you're willing :)
@@PatrickHulce Tried this, a bit inconvenient to convert all photos, however now even when I have the preview at 200% zoom (max) it shows as less than 1/8 my screen size and wont get any bigger so its unusable to start sorting the photos. This was also done with the converter making full size jpeg prieviews in the dng converter. Still not as good as installing sony's raw driver and using windows to cull the photos manually...
@@jayesmoker1140 you dont need to use the DNG converter manually. Optyx will just use it automatically on import.
Great point on 200% max we can increase that!
legit just bought photo mechanic yesterday... fuck haha
i mean, photo mechanic is still great and will save you time over culling in lightroom 👍
ooooooooo
wait, is this not monday?
