I’ve always wondered how electronic music artists play sequences like 1:21. Do they assign individual notes to each button? How do they memorize and learn to play it, because I assume the sounds change every time he programs the pad, unlike a traditional keyboard where the notes are basically the consistent.
Correct, you assign notes to the pad and memorize their location. But, if the notes are not too complex in your songs you can set it to one pattern and just play it as a square piano. For some performances people prefer the note patterns to be a lot more elaborate (check Kaskobi's channel), while others can use it as a static drum pad. The possibilities are endless.
