    Disappointed that Aphrodite was waved through without a debate on the category "no more people who we know their father". According to Hesiod, she didn't really have a father, but was born of the foam produced when Ouranos's genitals landed off the coast of Cythera after having been severed by Kronos (Ouranos's son and Zeus's father).
    Of all the characters in Greek mythology to choose for that category, she's one of the most fraught.

    KEY: "Nancy Kerrigan. No more people from that land mass - the north, south, central America. That whole blob... No blobbers... Nancy Kerrigan... no more old school blobbers."
    (later in the game)
    HORNE: "What was your challenge for Captain Rik?
    KEY: "American, maybe?"
    HORNE: "Blob, yeah."

    • @lajosgoell609
      @lajosgoell609 3 роки тому +1

      Yes, according to Hesiod that's how she was conceived. Her mom just sorta being the sea, the Genitals were thrown into. Which would make her the Aunt of Zeus, him being a grandkid of Uranus through Kronos(who cutthe genitals off of Uranus in the first place). But after she became one of the olympic gods, Zeus adopted her as his daughter, which would legaly make him her dad. And since ones biological aunts dad is ones Grandfather, he technicly also became his own granddad. But i don't think that part of the narrative is ever explored.
      But according to Homer Zeus is just Aphrodites biological dad outright. So i'd say the category is fine, even if it is disputed, since they were able to name one of the people(if you can call Zeus a people) that is generally believed to be her father, biologicly or legaly.

    Presumably Horne meant Wayne Rooney was the premiership player? Only he's not. Key was so close to keeping the streak going there.

      Yeah I thought that as well, but he didn't specify that it had to be an active player, so it can be argued, that anyone that ever played in the premiership falls under the category. If you say only active players count then you are right, since there was no active player with the last Name rooney playing in the Premiership for the 2020/21 Season.

    A lengthy game ending in 'death or glory' challenges, with death to both 'challangers'. Don't mind it.
