Great idea on the 28" v 30" video. Would be interesting to see the shooting difference when we are all convinced that longer barrels rule 👍

I have a Henri Pieper SxS 12g boxlock that is steel monoblock with damascus tubes. Rather than a step down, it has the barrels blended into the block as per the "Pieper Modified Diana" style. Belgian Nitro proof on 70mm chambers. It's the reverse in terms of age to that one you examined, going by variations in Belgian proofmarks it was originally proved between 1913 and 1924, long after I thought damascus would have disappeared in such things (but according to an old advert I saw, you could order Piepers at the time in your choice of compressed steel, London twist or fine damascus). We got some wierd throwbacks down here in Australia. I still shoot it nowadays and love it

Really like the Holland. Since watching your videos at Holts and shooting SXS's I'm looking at a purchase of a J.D. Dougal this week. It's a 12-hammer gun reproofed in 1985 for 2 3/4 nitro shells.

I picked up a Browning Superposed back in 1978 that was made in the mid 1930's. This Model has 30" Barrels, Full & Modified Chokes, Raised Matted Top Rib and Twin Selective Triggers. This Trigger set-up is a useful option because you can select the Modified Choke by pulling the Front Trigger first and then pull it again to get the Full Choke. Likewise, you can select the Rear Trigger first to get the Full Choke and pull it again to get the Modified Choked. You can also operate it as a Standard Double Trigger by pulling each Trigger individually, if you like. I had a Gunsmith make a Custom Stock and Forearm, using AAA Grade American Black Walnut, fit to my dimensions with both Trap and Field Shooting in mind. The Custom Stock maintains the Rounded Pistol Grip and Checkering Pattern of the original. This Shotgun has served me well on both the Trap Range and in the Field, hunting Waterfowl and Pheasants, since 1978.

Love me a model 12! No other pump swings and points as natural for me. If you get a chance try one out

I really like that Holland 16 bore hammer gun that is a bargain and worth every penny I hope someone buys it and puts some money into it.

Would be interesting to do a video on eye dominance, and the things a shooter can do or buy to help this issue

I don't remember if Johnny did one specifically on eye dominance. He DOES have a few with both of "the Eds" where they talk at length on the eyes. One eyed vs two eyed, shooting glasses selection, etc.

The wall thicknesses are 13 and 19 thou on that Holland unfortunately, sleeving is around 4-4500k so makes it quite an expensive gun really 😢

That’s pretty brutal, but still a very pretty single barrel!

I didn't look at the dates and thought the sealed bid auction was along with the live auction, it's killing me not knowing and waiting! a slot to fill and way too long for a wait.

Considering the Brexit - EU customs ruling that was mentioned, it is surprising that those English SxS guns are not coming to the Czech and Slovak markets where pre-1890 guns don't even require a licence for anyone over 18yo. Currently many battered Gras or Rolling Blocks converted to shotguns and Lancaster shotguns with pitted barrels are sold at rather high prices.

Do Holts sell guns outside of Auctions? Ie if you offer what the reserve is between auctions?

The short clips of the handguns, what's the legality of those there? Are they deactivated or are they obsolete cartridges and therefore legal?

Had a quick look at the catalogue, a mix of Section 5, obsolete calibres and deactivated.

That 1892 is interesting. A takedown model (rare), but in rather poor condition and converted to .410. Hmm.
It's probably worth enough as a rifle to get rebarreled back to a pistol caliber and be worth it.

I would like to see you cover more guns, I think you spend to much on each one

I think that crossover stock was actually “centervision”. I’d buy that Chapuis if it was already here in the states. Need a cool older skeet gun. Have found a couple fantastic older Trap guns that were an incredible value! Apparently people are willing to give away tight choke guns because of all the leftist steel nonsense. Anyway, nothing better in my opinion than reviews of old high quality sporting guns as they are rare useful art forms rapidly being replaced by plastic tacticool range toys. Times change but today it seems, the change is no longer for the best! 👍🏼
