the 8th gen is really good depending on what you want to do with it but if you are prepared to spend a little extra cash then definitely get the air 4 for the extra features
8th generation is best midrange iPad so far. It’s very good for light note taking, drawing and gaming. But, if you are going to download heavy games, and use it to edit, buy the iPad Pro. If not, yes the 8th gen is perfect.

I want to know if this is sufficient enough for all time use if I want it to be! Like what apps or sites can it print from and what to do if AirPrint doesn’t work!?

I don’t recommend if you are using it for playing game, because it creates scratches easily plus it’s a kinda expensive for just playing game, I think you can use the glass protector (looks prettier and less scratches) if not using Apple Pencil to write😊

If you’re not planning to have a lot of pictures and apps, I think it will be enough because a lot of people are also only using 64gb, it’s just you will have to upload lots of things on iCloud or google photo to save space. (I only used 41 go out of 256gb)

how loud is the sound of the pencil on the screen because I'm not a big fan of that noise even with a normal pen I make sure I'm not writing directly on a table to avoid it

There brand is amazing and it feels like your weighting on paper and helps your apple pen tip not get ruined as quickly
It is a good choice but I don’t think it’s worth it (the price and scratches easily that needs to be replaced frequently)

Buy a case for your iPad. Every time you slide it into the pouch, it makes mini scratches on the back >.

For my pro I have just a cheaper matte screen protector that cost about £15, it works well
Make sure to do research because some knock off one can wear off your Apple pencil

50 dollars? the ipad air is 599 (64 gb) the ipad pro is 799 dollars (128 gb)
I compared between both iPads and I think the air is good enough for what I’m using right now.
