You do such a great job being clear on the pronunciation and giving time - for us beginners - to hear the words and repeat them several times. Thanks for these videos! I'm hoping to emigrate to Portugal in October!
11-19 was actually easier for me because it's very similar to French. Onze is same in both Doze-douze Treze-treize Catorze-quatorze Quinze same for both
@@AxeDharme Not so fast, clever human. One thing is to understand them when you hear or read them, and another thing is to be able to write and speak them correctly. I speak 6 languages and for me it's a challenge to not muddle up some similar words. Legumes- légumes- Easy piece lemon squeeze- Yes, but remember in portuguese is without accent aigu. That was just an example. Understand my native language is not difficult if your native language is french, italian or spanish, but write and speak it well is another issue.
@@Theyoutuberpolyglot I never said it's a cakewalk my friend. I just said it's easier to remember and by relating them together it can definitely help. Of course the downside as you said, is not jumbling them up especially while having a spoken conversation. :)
DrAxe Dharme Nice to meet you. If you need help with your Portuguese contact me. I would like to refresh my French as I don’t have anyone to practice with. I watch films on Netflix or sometimes I read articles. Je m’appelle José, je suis portugais, mais j’ai grandi à Madrid. Ouais, je parle aussi espagnole et autres langues étrangères. Enchanté de faire ta connaissance. Tu es français? Je suis allé à Paris deux fois. Une belle ville.
I've just started learning Portuguese with your channel. thankfully it's similar to French which I speak fluently. however, I would love to get all the episodes from 1 till the end of your Portuguese vocabulary pill. I couldn't find all the episodes on UA-cam. thank you in advance
Jasmin Tamang I am Portuguese, and most of us don’t speak asiatic languages. On my channel I speak: Portuguese,Spanish,German,English, Italian and french. I know a bit Russian. Arigatou is similar to alike. It is easy to remember.
Your teaching is very good and excellent. I'm sorry, I just want to make a suggestion ... I think memorizing four, five, fourteen, fifteen, forty and fifty is just a little bit difficult, but you can write and repeat them side by side. Obrigado

Well done. What I would say is that up to 24 vinte e quatro, I could hear a definite 'and' E or e. From vinte e cinco, from my hearing it became vinte cinco and not vinte e cinco. Did it become more colloquial and why as you say did E almost becomes inaudible. Keep up the good work, European Portuguese needs far more attention.

These videos and podcasts are just great Susana! Thanks so much for all your great work! Notice that from the “thirties” forward, the “o” in quatro, cinco, and oito sort of disappears. Is this another case of disappearing letters ))) or a function of faster speech in this section of the lesson? Obrigado!
In this video you don't pronounce the 'O' sound from vinte e oito onwards. E.g trinta e quatr, quarenta cinc. In some other videos they do keep pronouncing them all the way. Which is correct for European Portuguese please?
kingofcool they do pronounce those letters. When we speak fast, we might make some liaisons, which means we drop some letters and become silent. Please listen 👂 to her carefully.
I don't get it.You going crazy rocket speed woman! There is no way people will be process this so fast, especially not if you are begginer! no way.Sorry
I disagree with your comment. First, you will not pickup on the sound if you have not heard them before. You need to listen many times and it will become more natural to hear. The clarity of the spoken word here is perfect. Just give it time.

Indeed, in 25 the last "e" of "vinte" merges with "e" (and) and apparently disappears (vinticinco). It's there, you just don't hear it. :)

I'm learning Portuguese and I've realized that pronunciation changes. I am wondering if it is like in USA, pronunciation and accents change.
Every language has regional differences when it comes to pronunciation. :)
Jimmy P Yes. This is standard Portuguese from Portugal 🇵🇹.

I'm sorry, but you must be deaf. The os are clearly pronounced, but more like an u, since vowel reduction is common in Portuguese. "Quatru".
