This was the last time Trapdoor was played live until last night. It’s been 14 years since they last played it and it was the first time since Josh was in the band. Fucking wild to go back to this all these years later.
I need more versions of trapdoor live, the amount of emotion he puts into his live shows even if it's for a small crowd is just beautiful, I love Tyler and his passion for his music.
Just discovered this song -- having thoroughly saturated myself in Vessel and left wanting more -- these songs are more complex, honest, raw and natural -- Vessel is great but more polished. Tyler is a melodic genius. GENIUS!!!
those people truly understand the power of that song. I mean dang can they at least clap this man putting his heart n soul into this song. I wish I could go to a show with all the old tracks are being played.
Tyler has been so deticated to his music for over 11 years. He worked hard to get where he is now and he never took a break (the hiatus doesn't count cause he was working on trench during the hiatus)
The fact that no one clapped and tyler even had to ask them to clap.. Now thousands of people will automatically clap and he doesn't have to say anything.. Thousands of people will be singing back his songs..
People did clap though. I could hear them clapping. At least some people close to the recorder. Keep in mind they were nobodies. A small local band with not even a true following. Maybe some people who liked a song or two but no true fans just yet.
At around 1:24 the drummer looses a drumstick lol but it's okay cos he handled it like a pro. And omfg this is one of my favourite song, it's so beautiful, I wish there were more videos of them performing it.
[Verse 1] He wakes up early today Throws on a mask that will alter his face Nobody knows his real name But now he just uses one he saw on a grave [Pre-Chorus] And he pretends he's okay, but you should see, oh Him in bed late at night, he's petrified [Chorus] Take me out, and finish this waste of a life Everyone gather around for a show Watch as this man disappears as we know Do me a favor and try to ignore As you watch him fall through a blatant trapdoor [Verse 2] He thinks that faith might be dead Nothing kills a man faster than his own head He used to see dreams at night But now he's just watching the backs of his eyes [Pre-Chorus] And he pretends he's okay, but you should see Him in bed late at night, he's petrified [Chorus] Take me out and finish this waste of a life Everyone gather around for a show Watch as this man disappears as we know Do me a favor and try to ignore As you watch him fall through a blatant trapdoor Yeah, yeah Yeah, yeah! [Bridge] Oh, yeah Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah [Chorus] Take me out and finish this waste of a life Everyone gather around for a show Watch as this man disappears as we know Do me a favor and try to ignore When you watch him fall through a blatant trapdoor [Outro] 'Cause nobody knows his life
It's so encouraging to see their old videos, knowing where they are now. Just a couple kids from Ohio are now taking on arenas around the world. Anyone can do it.
Aww how he was like "Cris, Nick, you're doing so good, so perfect and good." even though no one called for him that was sad. I feel like he was trying to reassure himself like when say "stay alive fren" it's usually for me more than anything and I just felt weird relating feelings.
Vanessa Anverk I've been going through every time he says "trapdoor" in different videos trying to find out what he says. Right there is sounds like bleeding
I wonder if Tyler recently came and watched this video before playing this the other night Edit: actually he definitely did, because he had everyone clap just like he did here
Wish they’d play stuff from the first album more often. Hoping one day Chris and Nick play an oldie or two with them. Wonder how different the band would be if they’d never left.
That would’ve been such a cool concept to do for the 10 year anniversary of self titled. To bring them back for one more tour, from what I know both Chris and Nick still keep contact with Tyler. In fact Nick is their merch manager.!
This is my favorite song ever. Listening to this old live version of it made me cry cause I just love it so much ❤ I would do anything to go back to 2009 and somehow see this beautiful song live.
Hey man, I was wondering if there is at any point in time you saw them play implicit demand for proof, before you start your day, or a car a torch a death live. I can't find any footage of them so I was wondering.
Amazing to think that in 2009 they were just a band competing in a small venue like this, and now they are out there saving lives (mine included). Thank you so much for Tyler for everything you have created!
Man I have just found this channel and you brought me to tears. You're so lucky to witness their success from the very beginning. Thank you for those videos
At this time, I bet he never thought that the words coming out of mouth, that at the time a few knew, would be known by thousands of people, even millions of people. I actually cried as I sang along to this, thinking about the change.
Wish they still played their older songs
They do
They still do ,but only in some performances
I mean they're playing taxi cab at least
Heda Kom TriKru they do but less
Panicking Pilots They’re playing fall away now which is cool.
To hear Twenty One Pilots finally play this song live again tonight was a dream come true...
Nice!
@@JacobRobAJHi, I would like to say thank you so so much for recording all those! Makes me wish I was born earlier to see them live lol.
"This song is one of their newer songs" omg
I know this is old, but that's extremely disrespectful Snowtail.
Sir Chewy *Cough Cough* I think that's why the question marks are there *Cough cough*
Steph BAHAHA
this video was uploaded in 2009 at the time it was new
Pan Jakub cool pfp

The whole world is clapping
this song hits so hard that when it ends you'll probably forget how to clap
This was the last time Trapdoor was played live until last night. It’s been 14 years since they last played it and it was the first time since Josh was in the band. Fucking wild to go back to this all these years later.
They played it at the small show in columbus me and gf got lucky to get in that. It was beautiful
"Be sure to support them" man I hope they become famous.
your wish came true
:P
Will Russ lol now we have the entire clique
Now they officially have millions of fans worldwide and have released a new album
i came from the future to say that they are famous
I need more versions of trapdoor live, the amount of emotion he puts into his live shows even if it's for a small crowd is just beautiful, I love Tyler and his passion for his music.
Who’s here after they just played Trapdoor for the first time since 2009?
Man it took them 15 years to play this song live again. Definitely worth the wait
aye, I see you're still alive.
@@obsessivecorvid been here the whole time
This is probably my favourite tøp song and I'd do anything to see it live. This video almost brought me to tears. I'm so proud of Tyler |-/
JustAlex same i always feel so emotionally attached to this song
AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO FELT BAD WHEN TYLER WAS LIKE "CLAP WITH ME" AND NO ONE DID?
NO YOU ARE NOT
I was clapping with him when I watched this...lol. BUT yea.
Just discovered this song -- having thoroughly saturated myself in Vessel and left wanting more -- these songs are more complex, honest, raw and natural -- Vessel is great but more polished. Tyler is a melodic genius. GENIUS!!!
HAHA SATURATED WHAT A COINCIDENCE
so much emotion…i can't watch this without crying...
me too :')

AFTER 15 YEARS....
7 years ago... and now he's selling out arenas all over the world with his best friend, things always happen for a reason |-/
Oh, it's been 7 years now + 7 more
Flying drum stick at 1:25
yeah :D
Charlie Gibson
Haha xD
lmao
Sometimes we'll die and sometimes we'll fly away...
Nice save tho

That awkward moment when you don't see Josh on drums behind Tyler.....
That's all I could think about
+Michael Dwyer same
Yes omf
Ikr that's all I looked at..
That's Chris sahli (I hope I spelt the right) he's a pretty cool guy!
Who would have thought that 8 years later this boy and his best friend would go to the Grammys
Anyone from anywhere can do anything
The description of the video omg "buy their album when it comes out, go to their shows" i just feel proud of Tyler and Josh. i just can't stop crying
Wow amazing, and now 14.5 years later they played this live again last night at newport music hall
lol "check out their myspace"
funniest thing is that myspace wasn't even cool 6 years ago
Now they sold out and played Madison Square Garden TWICE! Proud is an understatement👏
They don't play enough songs of their self entitled album tho, which saddens me since it is by far their best one imo
"This song is one of their newer songs that will be on an upcoming album from them"
The band must have been brand new! This footage is insanely rare!
No one clapped with smol bean aw
:(
i did
At around 1:24 the drummer looses a drumstick lol but it's okay cos he handled it like a pro. And omfg this is one of my favourite song, it's so beautiful, I wish there were more videos of them performing it.
wow omg I've found a fan since before self titled was released this is rare
Exactly 10 years from that day :')
Just like Air Catcher this under my command shall never be deleted it must be remembered as a masterpiece of their career.
Welcome back.
Indeed
imagine watching this live... how i wish
[Verse 1]
He wakes up early today
Throws on a mask that will alter his face
Nobody knows his real name
But now he just uses one he saw on a grave
[Pre-Chorus]
And he pretends he's okay, but you should see, oh
Him in bed late at night, he's petrified
[Chorus]
Take me out, and finish this waste of a life
Everyone gather around for a show
Watch as this man disappears as we know
Do me a favor and try to ignore
As you watch him fall through a blatant trapdoor
[Verse 2]
He thinks that faith might be dead
Nothing kills a man faster than his own head
He used to see dreams at night
But now he's just watching the backs of his eyes
[Pre-Chorus]
And he pretends he's okay, but you should see
Him in bed late at night, he's petrified
[Chorus]
Take me out and finish this waste of a life
Everyone gather around for a show
Watch as this man disappears as we know
Do me a favor and try to ignore
As you watch him fall through a blatant trapdoor
Yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah!
[Bridge]
Oh, yeah
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah
[Chorus]
Take me out and finish this waste of a life
Everyone gather around for a show
Watch as this man disappears as we know
Do me a favor and try to ignore
When you watch him fall through a blatant trapdoor
[Outro]
'Cause nobody knows his life
i miss them
I've never seen Tyler wear plaid before, and it's strange somehow.
yeah same
down on the farm?
And BAM The Hype music video appears
Imagine this song with Josh on the drums & backup vocals.
It's so encouraging to see their old videos, knowing where they are now. Just a couple kids from Ohio are now taking on arenas around the world. Anyone can do it.

¿Me perdi de algo?
1:48 I JUST REALISED HE SINGS "BLATANT TRAPDOOR" AND NOT BLEEDING "TRAPDOOR" WTF MY LIFE HAS BEEN A LIE
Vanessa Anverk I've been going through every time he says "trapdoor" in different videos trying to find out what he says. Right there is sounds like bleeding
Vanessa Anverk same
my life is also a lie as of now

ok my heart is so warmed from this i love going back and watching these videos and seeing lil ty pour his heart into for such a small crowd ugh
This is the only live version of trapdoor?
There used to be more live versions of trapdoor posted but just not youtube.
+JacobRobAJ where can I find more of the old stuff ? I miss it so much
i like the old stuff way better the new stuff
There used to be a lot of old fan footage on facebook.
JacobRobAJ anything of Clear or Implicit Demand for Proof?
amazing. just pure talent
Perfection
I keep on replaying the part where chris' drumstick goes flying omg
My beloved
"go to their live shows"
I DON'T HAVE THE
FREAKING MONEY
FOR THAT
By far one of TØP'S best live performances.
Nick’s harmonies
Nick was a great addition to the band
I’d kill to see this performed live again... it’s sad this is the only one
they played it tonight
iconic , legend
11 years ago today, wow!
When you lose your drumstick when performing #DrummerProblems
ToppKlassCarat I saw that and seriously laughed
sending shivers all over my body
this is still my favorite song of theirs in 2020
I'm so proud oml
como eu queria poder ver isso ao vivo

Very thankful that you recorded this the only live performance of trapdoor, one of my favorites from self titled
i would do anything to have been at that performance
I'm supposed to be asleep how did I get here
1:32 THEY'RE ALL SINGING
when the drum stick fell so did my heart for a second.
Nick and Chris were great change my mind
WHY DID THIS JUST SURFACE FOR ME

4:53AM stay alive |-/
I really want them to play this live...my favorite twenty one pilots song of all time :(
Seeing that they haven't played it live in so long makes me think they won't play it. Ofc it won't be the same b/c the band changed but still :/
Maybe they will since its more of a special show for their local fans. Idk. djskskksskkskk
cuanto han creciedo son unos genios tanto los anteriores miembros de esta hermosa banda como ahora josh y tyler
Watching this on 2021 🖤 love u guys!
I wish they did Twenty-nine Live (it's a song they did with another band that's is one of my favorite songs)
Ого, не знал что Trapdoor есть в живом исполнении.. Все бы отдал что бы услышать вживую, моя любимая песня...
ахах, как я тебя понимаю
I'm crying😭
the description of this video made me laugh and cry at the same time, they have come a long way :')
At this time, I bet he never thought that the words coming out of mouth, that at the time a few knew, would be known by thousands of people, even millions of people. I actually cried as I sang along to this, thinking about the change.
If only these people and former members knew how big they would become...
I need to know if smøl bean won
Yes, they won. :)
+Geovis A if they didn't I was gonna flip my shit
+Jeannine Sherwood same lol
I don't think they did. He mentioned in a tdc show earlier this week that they'd played better of the bands in that same venue and lost
Who were they up against
I would've killed to be at that show.
Everytime I hear this i habe to cry oh boy..
I love this
I NEED MORE VERSION OF TRAPDOOR I CANT PLEASE FOR MY OWN MENTAL HEALTH ALSBBSB N
