Great video and nice to hear all the SP's sound difference! I own the 404MK2 but the 555 is so warm sounding that i think shines the most but that MK2 packing that punch.
Guys i need to ask why would i get one of these in 2024! Sorry i come from an instrumental school and protools more than production... But i bought Native instruments Maachine gear Mk3 and Jam.. and I have a n analogue drum machine.. i have a good offer to buy it the sp 505.. but not sure of its worth it now in 2024? Like why would i need it? What is unique abiut itits too old.. or these devices never get old! Very ignorant about such electronic gear
sp808 has fantastic effects and they are crazy tweekable. The vinyl sim is by far the best on it the 808 has two types of vinyl sim with 6 parameters to tweek for each.
This is a really good video, its fun to see how the sounds compare. The thing that really changes the sounds on these machines though is how the sounds interact with each other. Like if you just take a rendered file like this and play with the vinyl sim, it will sound so much different than the sounds being played indiviually run into the vinyl sim. A good comparison to make would be to bring in stems of each instrument, and then run it through the effects, it changes the sound so much, you'll notice this if you go through the resample workflow vs the pattern mode workflow.
Great comparison. Really interesting to hear how different they all sound. The sp404 mk2 sounds a lot better than I expected. I think the 202 is my favourite though.
I have my 303 and I still run my beats through it. The SP series iterates so slow man. They could make a quantum leap and get velocity pads, larger display, battery, usbc, Bluetooth, travel case and no need for anything else anymore.
Thanks for making this, I have a 606 and 555. The 606 sounds amazing and similar to the 303 and 505 from these examples, maybe slightly cleaner with some different effects. I like the 505 a lot. 555 not as good as the 606 imo but the lo-fi comp can make some amazing sounds ✌️
Only units I've never owned is the Sp-606 & SP-808. At one point 606s weren't as available and the 808, I had a friend who had one and I wasn't a huge fan of the size.
303 always sounds good
303 sounds the exact same as the 505 LOL shut up
SP-555 is grossly under appreciated😑
The vinyl sim is insanely good on it to like woah
I love my 555 the most. I have the 202 404og mk2
6:05 sp 808 lofi 🔥🔥🔥 crazy sound

the 505 and 555 are definitely on my radar. Love the sound on those. Hopefully I can get one soon!
the sp505 is really fun to play, but loading samples onto it is slooooowwwwwwww. editing samples is sloooooowwwwwww.

The 808ex (with cf card mod), reigns supreme.

Love that 808 Vinyl Sim
606 is my favorite
404 og 🔥🐧
Cool video! 202 is the only one with that real crunchy lofi sound.
I own an Mk2. I agree
Thank you for this comparison!
303 comp is legendary
same exact one as 505. 505 has the same effects and its cheaper. the only reason people dont get it is cause it doesnt have any cool factor

The mk2 is a beats. Big steps from SX/A to the mk2. I will never go back.
i'm on team 505
i have thr 505 things magical
I use an sp 606 I love it!
SP Gang 202, 606, 404A ✌🏿😎
Best video on youtube! ✨
606 has beast old school sounding effects and 404mk2 best new school they are really open and wide
I own a sp202& 404 sx had a sp 808 vintage 2003
Good job!

If only we could build our own SP
Cool Video 😎

808 creams em all in just about every category in my opinion.
How can one aquire all of these sampler? I'm so jealous! Great video by the way, love from Los Angeles!
Damn, the 555 sounds superior all the way, gonna have to cop me one!
hga, so it wasnt just me then who noticed. Thing sounds on a whole different level then all the other SP's
Imagine the mk2 screen in all of the sp's. That 808ex would have dominated the market for sure
Well done! - Another Subscriber for you!
Subscribed just because of this video. Very nice and informative one mate bravo (if only 505 had mute group like 606...)
The 202 is great for people like me who want to close our eyes and pretend to have an SP1200.
Only units I've never owned is the Sp-606 & SP-808. At one point 606s weren't as available and the 808, I had a friend who had one and I wasn't a huge fan of the size.
Not always the newbie is best. But I love my mk2 😅

Nice
Merci pour cette vidéo!
555 & 404 mk2 all day and night
I heard 303 has the best compressor out of all the machines.
Here’s my secret- I use it on literally everything lol. If you see one under 500$ and have the $- just do it like Nike fr. You will not regret it
same exact one as 505. 505 has the same effects and its cheaper. the only reason people dont get it is cause it doesnt have any cool factor
Hey do you stack the snares? It sounds fat.
No,I only used the samples i purchased.
I have an sp 808.. cant wait to figure out getting it all hooked up to a DAW
Why I can't set up a samples bpm in the sp404mk2 as easy as in the #sp808? It's really hard to make a perfect loop
I wish the MK2 would get as gritty as its antecessors
It does
@@Chadblake1 yeah, it can get distorted and bitcrushed but it lacks the dynamic response of the previous models, which is what I meant.
@@croay You're right. Not gonna lie, 303 vinyl sim on mk2 is almost accurate. But MK2 has modern sound, no matter the effect
This is the most pointless thing I've clicked on in a long time...!
