- Hey Jude Guitar Lesson For Beginners - Easy chords and strumming patterns for beginners. Welcome to my Hey Jude guitar lesson easy version for beginners. I will be going over how to strum Hey Jude along with the chords we use in the song. This version requires no capo. We will be using all open chords.
I will review two strumming patterns for Hey Jude, one if going to be for beginner and the second is going to be for late beginners.

"Hey Jude" was written by Paul McCartney in an effort to help John Lennon's son, Julian, learn to accept his new step mother. (Paul always called Julian "Jude as a nickname) I know, I am old and know a lot of this music trivia type of stuff. It may be useless information but it made me very popular at cocktail parties, which I no longer attend.

I think you could just play base string one strum down for this song then maybe a few up strokes later, but that’s how I play it, love your channel though.
