  • The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Climate and Health Program launched a series of webinars to highlight the pressing need for greater scientific and civic engagement to protect public health from a changing climate.
    The second webinar on Climate Change, Pollen, and Allergies, was hosted on March 31, 2021, from 1:00-2:30 p.m. Eastern Time, and highlighted the impacts of climate change on pollen, use of phenology to detect pollen activity, health risk assessments and surveillance related to pollen, advances in forecasting pollen, and translation of such research into effective patient
    care.
    The webinar was moderated by Dr. Shubhayu Saha (CDC Climate and Health Program), and featured presentations from Dr. Lewis Ziska (Columbia University), Dr. Theresa Crimmins (USA National Phenology Network), Claudia Brown (CDC Climate and Health Program), Dr. Jeremy Hess (University of Washington), and Dr. Stanley Fineman (Atlanta Allergy & Asthma, Member NAB, American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology).
