It makes sense to me to be natural without being mixed to be honest if their hair is that way since ethiopia have many types of africans that we normally don't get to see often in the us. I just don't like when some US-born ethiopians/somalians saying they're not african but ethiopian/somalian (which makes no sense).
I have half german half Somali cousins, and they also look white, but more mediterranean Italian like white. Somalis have thin features anyway, your only looking at skin colour!

Her mom is not Somali, Katja wrote about it in her blog (its in russian though) where she shows pictures of her parents and they are both Russian.
