Hey I know this isn't related to Moon Knight or Marvel but seeing as you guys haven't reacted to a DC movie in a while I have a suggestion. Justice League: Gods and Monsters. It's an alternate universe story on the Justice League. There are also 3 minisodes that take place before the movie. It is really is a great movie and I think you guys would really enjoy it.

The part that doesn't make sense on review is the bus scene where Oscar and Ethan are on the same bus. Busses are not that big.
Ngl, the idea of Marc getting home, seeing the fish is dead after not being fed for two days, and presumably going out running around town trying to panic buy a new one-finned fish because he knows how much Steven loves the fish is both hilarious and low-key kind of adorable lmao can't wait to see what happens next
*SPOILER*

What if I were to tell you the person who replace the fish was not Marc?👀👀

The postcards he gets from his mom are the same ones they sell at his museum. Perhaps Marc was also writing to him as their mom to give him some familial emotional support.
My thoughts exactly!! Also his little, “later gator!” Saying must have some relevance to the alligator screensaver on the flip phone
@@TheNinjaBees also, ammit the goddess also has the face of a crocodile
Yeah I thought about this too. And I think the date is the same thing, don't think Marc intended the date for himself, instead he made moves to help Steven.
Ya also the date . That mark asked being Steven for him to keep Steven at ease. And also replacing the gold fish to not making him emotional. It's nice that mark is taking care for Stevens mental health
I definitely agree, its gotta be Marc sending those to him.
I cannot wait for them to explore the relationship between the personalities. It clear Marc is trying to help Steven feel at ease be it helping get a date or buying him a new goldfish while still accomplishing whatever he is doing. Granted the lack of cooperation is not helping , but hopefully if the end of the episode means anything at the very least Marc and Steven will be able to swap more smoothly now that the latter is aware of the former.
The writers said that there is three personalities. One is Marc who is also moon knight, the other is Steven grant and the third is Mr knight. I wonder if Mr knight has a regular human counterpart like Marc who is also moon knight.
They would actually be called alters not personalities for DID btw
@@calebstephan2083 I'm wondering if Mr. Knight is the one that arranged that date though, I'm not very familiar with Moon Knight comics, but just based on promotional art, it seems like Mr. Knight might be more likely to arrange a steak dinner, and if Marc set up the date he'd have had to impersonate Steven's accent really well (which is totally plausible)
Possible since I think Jack Lockley has been hinted at by Oscar Isaac. Make sense to have a in between between Marc and Steven who is independent of the Moon Knight abilities like Steven while still have a more confidence personality like Marc
My apologize for the incorrect term
I do love how Steven never puts together that he works at a giftshop and is somehow able to afford to live in that huge flat in London on his own
I was thinking the same lol. It’s very likely because of Marc being a mercenary and having lots of money from acts he’s carried out I’d imagine

Now I’m just sitting here imagining mark and konshu in the pet store looking for a fish with one fin and eventually getting fed up like “screw it he probably won’t even notice” and just picking one.

Same here. But I can see the next episode being the same events from Marks point of view because that scene where Steven has a broken jaw we don't see him fall. But we actually see him falling to that point in the trailers they released.
I've seen so many complaints about very little action in the episode (not here but on Reel Rejects video). It's such a great episode. I don't get why people can't appreciate storytelling and great character detail. They seem to only want mindless action.

Some things to know about Dissociative Identity Disorder:
-it’s a covert disorder, meaning that it’s quite common for alters to not even know that they have the disorder
-it can only develop in childhood through repeated trauma
-blackouts are one of the main symptoms, losing hours, days, or even weeks sometimes
-it’s quite common for alters to have different accents. It’s all based upon what the child can view as someone that can protect them, and ideas they have already. So if the body knew of American accents or grew up around them, it’s extremely likely to have an American alter in Britain
-alters tend to have the job of acting like the host, in this case that’s Steven. So most likely if Marc is fronting at some place that Steven is supposed to be, then he can pretend to be Steven
-co-consciousness is what happens when alters can communicate with one another when one is fronting. It’s essentially them being in the passenger seat of the car
The UA-camr DissociaDID is also a good place to look into the subject.
Ty for this. There are so many people who believe this isn’t a real thing and only fiction but it’s not and can be really difficult. I hope they somewhat represent DID properly in this show unlike other shows and movies (ex: split)
@@jessjasmin06 there’s other shows that do DID better than this
@@jessjasmin06 To be fair Moon Knight's DID is much more mystical. Not sure how the show is doing it but from what I understand from the comics his DID only came after he got his powers.
@@L_Lawliet1907 do you have any good recommendations??
Just wanted to say, schizophrenia is having hallucinations and paranoia. Dissociative identity disorder (DID) is having multiple personalities within the same individual. They are very different things.
Yeah, most people use the terms interchangeably. It doesn't bother me, I don't blame anyone for not knowing everything.
There is a trope in some of the comics that he IS hallucinating, that Moon Knight and Khonshu arent real. Unreliable narrator type stuff. So its implied he has both.
@@ryanparker4996 which you CAN have. You can have both schizophrenia and DID because they have very different symptoms. I know a few systems who have multiple mental health diagnosis...a few with schizophrenia and DID.
You don't need to have paranoia to have schizophrenia. You need a combination of negative and positive symptoms to have schizophrenia.
@@AnxietyRat Do you know if it is possible for an Alter to have schizophrenia and others not, in the same system?
I agree with Rick about Gus the one-finned fish dying of starvation. it seems like Steven went to sleep, then Marc woke up and went to do a bunch of Moon Knight stuff in western Europe (including scarab stealing) but it took longer than he expected to get back due to Steven's interference. By the time Marc got back to England, Gus was dead. So Marc bought the new fish to cover for the excess lost time, then went to sleep. Then Steven (whose last memory was of the final destination logs killing those 2 guys) woke up screaming.
Which is really kind of sad. I know it can be hard to keep goldfish alive even with daily care, but poor one-finned Gus didn't deserve his fate. Superheroes need care plans for their pets, their jobs are too unpredictable.
Calvin- “It’s like an ancient ruin”
Aaron- “He’s like ruinin his feet”
😂😂😂 I love Aaron
I have DID and I was pleasantly surprised at how accurate this was. Of course it has a fantasy element but the experience of losing time/blacking out was so real it almost made me cry. Super excited to see the rest :)
I feel like people like you who have the disorder can comment on how the show treats DID not some self educated google warriors
@@geraldthegoose1685 I can't speak for the whole community ofc but everyone I know who has DID & has seen it enjoyed it too
Do you mind if I ask you a question: How does it feel to have DID and how severely does it affect your life? I'm just curious but trying to stay sensitive.
@@itsmaddogofficial No worries, that's a big question though.
In the beginning it was a lot like you see in this episode of MK, weird little things that add up until you think you're going crazy. People calling you the wrong name, saying you scheduled a date, etc. The vegan thing actually happened to me lol I used to be vegetarian but my alters would eat meat so people said they saw me eat meat and it was so confusing. Also similar to MK with the cellphone, I always found social media accounts on my phone under different names, with very different personalities. But the thing is I had some awareness like 20% of the time someone else was fronting. So the way it felt was that I was pretending to be someone else online, and I happened to black out when I was pretending. It sounds dumb but I didn't know any different so I genuinely thought other people blacked out a lot and hardly remembered anything.
Then after I was diagnosed it opened the door, I wrote notes to my alters and responses started appearing. We started working on communication, and doing trauma work ofc which helped us grow closer because some alters were/are "hid away" to protect the rest of us from knowing their bad memories.
Now I have blackouts a lot less but they still happen. If I'm close to an alter I will remember, for example where they went or who they talked to, but not the details. Otherwise switching in is like waking up. Kinda similar to the show in that, I don't go anywhere in between, my consciousness just skips ahead suddenly. But the show is pretty dramatized, it is more gradual and fuzzy, not just BOOM I'm somewhere else. Sometimes it happens in the middle of a conversation and I have no idea what I just said. Sometimes I still have dumb moments like, my alter will order a coffee and then later I'll ask whose it is (I don't drink coffee). But mostly we are good at communicating and keeping track of stuff, we all have our strengths and come out at different times, and we work well together.
@@Richie___Rich thats really interesting, and the way you write to yourself is really smart. Im glad its getting better for you! Im not surprised that the show is a little dramatized because i cant imagine the time chunks you miss are that big. Thanks for talking about this, i really just wanted to learn more about it from someone who actually experiences it.
its no longer called multiple personality disorder but Dissociative Identity Disorder, in this sense Marc and Steven are not different "personalities", they are different people entirely, so they are called "Alters"
I LOVE how on every reaction I see of Moon Knight. The reactors say the same thing I did watching the car scene " FINAL DESTINATION". We as a soceity have all been traumatized by those movies.

In the lore Anubis is like a judge, he judge whether you are worthy to live, if failed ammet will then devoured the victim. Anubis is a god not to be mistaken as a jackel. There are multiple jackel deity in the Egyptian legends.
Not Schizophrenia, it's Dissociative Identity Disorder.
Schizophrenia is something different.
Yeah, very common misconception which Eric mentioned. But you can still relate his experiences of schizophrenia like hallucinations and voices in your head or thinking you're someone else.
Yeah, they have pretty different symptoms. But you CAN have both disorders be comorbid. So you can have them both at the same time. But yeah, in this case it's just DID.
@@AnxietyRat it may well be both in this case, he sees a bloody Egyptian God, shouldn’t that point to Schizophrenia? Or do DID persons also see things that don’t or shouldn’t exist?
@@dlilwon They can. It's not super common but it can happen. That's the one gripe I have with the show. The dissociating is visually looking more like hallucinating...and they are not the same experiences.
But yeah, some systems can visually see their alters in the world around them but most just communicate internally. Alters can also sometimes see their internal apperance in mirrors and not see the body. But other systems do see the body in mirrors but don't identify with its appearance... like looking at a stranger.
It's a very varied disorder. Each system functions in different ways so it's a hard disorder to super accurately portray. As it's slightly different for each person.
The Egyptian God would point to schizophrenia IF we didn't know that in this universe gods actually exist. And in this case an actual Egyptian God has chosen Marc to be his worldly Avatar. We meet other gods Avatars in a future episode from what screenshots have told me.
@@AnxietyRat in the current iteration of the comics Marc had schizophrenia signs as a child, and then when he became empowered developed DID because of the trauma.

I don't have Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) formerly known as Multiple Personality Disorder, but from what I know, the system has alters with some being more dominant than others. I love that the audience is in the same page as Steven. We have no idea what's going on or when he got the powers. We don't even know which personality was the original - Steven or Marc.
Also, I wonder if the mum exists. For all we know, he may be speaking to a dial tone.
With how DID actually functions there is no original personality. Because the trauma that happens to create DID happens before the personality is fully formed in a child. They are both equally real people.

Dope episode. Moon Knight fan since 1993. The visuals in this episode were glorious. I'm getting Fight Club, Indiana Jones, Ghostbusters, The Mummy, Jacob's Ladder, and Donnie Darko vibes from this show.
Just so you guys know there is a real mental disorder called Disassociate Identity disorder (DID) which include multiple identities within one body known as "alters" and stems from childhood trauma. Many of the memories of the alters are not shared which can mean loss of time for some. There are positions in this system but the one I want to talk about is "The Host" which is essentially the alter which is clueless to the existence of the system and is created as a defense mechanism to be able to life their day-to-day life without the burdens of past traumatic memories. While in real life DID comes from repeated trauma to children under 7ish, if I remember correctly, I believe that in the case of Moon Knight this is a result of the original Identity gaining the powers to become Moon Knight. Also as a side note people who have DID sometimes consider terms like Multiple Personality Disorder or referring to different Alters as "Personalities" outdated and offensive since although they split off from one mind they are full people with their own complexities and quirks. I am a friend of some people who have DID so I'm glad that so far Moon Knight has been able to present a piece of media that portrays the condition mostly accurately. Otherwise, loved the reaction, been watching for a while. :)

Also it is not called Split personality or multiplier Personality disorder any more it is now called Dissociative Identity Disorder or DiD. and it is when a person, most likely a kid goes through repeated trauma and the mind can't handle it anymore so the brain creates an alter to protect itself from harm. and that alter is know as a protector. But, the alters do have real memories and they are also real people.
This was a good way of showing how involuntary alter changes are. For what I know about DiD, you can really lose days even when one of you alters decides to front. Seems Steven is a fairly new-ish alter so whatever happened to Marc to make Steven take over for so long must’ve pretty large trauma (which alters are born/created which is through Massive trauma). I appreciate the fact they (the host and alters) Haven’t made an “Evil” alter yet. Again DiD is about managing trauma not causing it. Yes, some alters (known as Protecters) can be rougher on the outside ( aka in front while the host is in the mind). But, never straight-up causing problems on purpose only to protect the host and the other alters. And Marc is the host as for Steven he is the one who is the most out aka in front so he can have some social life.
Also Marc always had DiD as a kid/teen he has 4-5 alters

Maybe the girl is just in his imagination in his head since Steven really wants to be a tour guide.
One of Mark's personalities is a little girl ... I think that's her

But yeah, that was so funny 😆
Steven does give permission for Marc to take control at the end, so there’s a chance he actually is aware of what’s going on at the end. But maybe not, I doubt they’d want to have all the Steven being confused storyline end at episode 1. Not sure though.
Been waiting alllll day for you guys! Oscar Isaac is terrific, great first episode
It’s really fun seeing people react to the show that don’t know about Moon Knight have multiple personalities
As a Mark myself, I am beyond pleased that there's finally a Marvel hero with my name (even though it's spelled wrong)
The reason Marc was telling steven give him control because he knows how to use and summon the suit and whenever Steven passed out while driving the truck it was mark fighting because he was a mercenary before he became moon knight, and the dude calling steven a parasite was konshu the moon God
Um... these guys are not well-informed with Moon Knight and his origin. Let them find out about who the "God" is when the show reveals it to them organically.
So Konshu is the God that lends “Moon Knight” (aka Mark) his powers correct?
this episode was crazy can't wait to see more
I really do love hearing about their life experiences, just fun to listen to
The rare Aaron prediction being dead wrong (that he was dreaming, no way it could have been real, etc).
"What else makes sense!? That he went to Germany, saw someone's life-force get eaten, when in and out of consciousness..."
Why, yes, Aaron. That is exactly what happened.
Moon Knight at the Museum
Aaron singing and dancing “Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go” is the best thing ever
I'd like to point out as i just realized that avatar the last Airbender now canonically exist in the MCU
So does James Cameron's Avatar film.
@@Unversed333 Which means Zoe Saldana plays Gamora and also exists in the MCU
even DC is canon in mcu
Wait what how explain?
@@maxmacraft6614 it is mentioned in Moon Knight.
When Rick said, "it's his mom" when the loose wooden board scene came up, I immediately thought of Kill*ng Stalking. Lol 😆
Only one episode in and this could easily be my favorite Marvel show so far.
So fucking great
been waiting all day for this one! great first episode for one of the most underrated marvel characters in my opinion
Loving the vibe so far can't wait for the rest of the season
When he is on the phone. What if he is talking to Marc!! Leaving messages and then marc can listen to them when he is in control so he knows what Steven is doing!!
Calvin's voice cracking during I Don't Wanna Miss a Thing was comedy gold lmao
I swear Aaron's reactions are the highlight of this video
Loved this episode! Cannot wait for the rest of the episodes
Rick's 'Rick' at the begining was so tired, loved it!
Marc Specter is the Mercenary, he can fight on his own. Marc can also call the Moon Knight. Steven is an alter- identity.
This show is gonna be a wild ride I’m so excited
I'm so happy you guys are going in blind. I really hope you enjoy the series as more information is revealed!
The first episode was so good! Can't wait to see more
If you ask me, Moon Knight feels more like their getting back to their Netflix MCU roots, making me think they could’ve introduced Moon Knight a lot sooner and on Netflix with Daredevil and co
For a brief second I thought slipper dude was Kevin Bacon.
But then I realized he was just six degrees from him.
I've been waiting for this ALL DAY.
I just wanted to give Eric a hug, he looked in so much pain 😢
Is it possible that the young girl in the museum is the Inner Child persona of Marc? She's red-haired too.
It'd be an interesting theory but Donna saw the kid. She told Steven to get back to work and that he was not the tour guide, so she saw him talking with someone else.
@@anacatarinasilva6140 Did she acknowledge the kid? She might just saw him kinda practicing being a tour guide, like shadow boxing. Because it's weird why she knew that Marc died and was technically refused in the field of reeds because he was resurrected by Khonshu.
The bird-skull thing is another Egyptian god named Khonsu. He's the one who gives Mark the power to turn into Moon Knight. I think he also has an adversarial relationship with the goddess Ammit.
An actual real god too! I thought he was a fictive re-imagining of Horus but Khonsu really is from Egyptian lore, just not a well known diety today
I just want to point out that thanks to you guys i have started to really pay attention to cinematography and visual queues ever since following your guys channel. love the content guys. thanks for opening my eyes.
Me and these guys literally said the same thing when watching this, "Final Destination!". 🤣
Hearing your analysis on this show makes me hope that you'll give Legion a second chance and that Mr. Robot will eventually win the poll.
@43:45 IIRC this was the premise of a short-lived TV show, "My Own Worst Enemy", starring Christian Slater as a mild-mannered family man with a split personality that's a Jason Bourne type.
The music in the last scene was perfect. I’ve literally watched the ending like 10 times
Man, Steven had one of the biggest fumbles in the Marvel universe missing that date with Dylan lol 😢. (biggest slip-up next to Starlord messing up the plan to kill Thanos) I hope she returns 😌. I enjoyed this episode. I'm in for the ride. I like the color grading, clever visual shots when the focus is on his personalities/voices, and watching with headphones on the sound design is soo so nice. 💆🏾♂🤌🏾
Gamora, Thor, Wanda, and Vision all slipped up as well. Wasn't just one person's fault.
First thing I do on my birthday is watch blind wave moon night ep 1 todays gonna be a good day
HBD!
Happy Birthday!!!!
I was so happy about how much trailer content was from ep1
Been waiting all day for this reaction!
Just to clean up Aaron's thoughts/questions

Steven and Marc are in one body. They are a person who has DID. However, Marc during some sort of mission doing whatever he does was possessed by a God or something that allows Marc to become Moon Knight, but Steven can not.
I'm sure the next episode will see the other main personality Marc Spector being in control. Dealing with missed calls and how the Moon Knight and Marc work together. Maybe a segment of HOW the Moon Knight and Marc became partners.
Marc is the Moon Knight. They're the same. Traditionally, the alter-egos also become Moon Knight, whilst simultaneously being unaware of each other.
Oscar Issac killed it in this first episode in a matter of 40 minutes we went from not knowing anything about him to character development for this guy and felt for him and were rooting for him.
Literally waited all day specifically for these guys!❤️
