60103 'Flying Scotsman' & 90028 'Sir William McAlpine' - "The Scotsman Salute" - 11/01/19

  • In memory of railway preservationist Sir William McAlpine, the man who, among many other great achievements in railway preservation, was responsible for saving 'Flying Scotsman' from the US in 1973, 60103 herself ran a special tour from London Kings Cross to York. Following from her arrival in York, a special ceremony took place at the NRM, in which DB Cargo 90028 was named after McAlpine himself. The newly named 90 was then shunted outside for photos alongside Scotsman, before running the return leg of the tour back to London.

    Great video again mate! Saw this on RTT but didn't know what it was. Also, I was busy with college so it's a shame I couldn't have gone
