Freddie is just so eloquent and humble, especially answering about being wealthy. He also said about being hardworking, which I believe, one of the key components of being successful...
This was the most complete version of this interview that I've every seen! Thank you. (yes, Rog is adorable as he flat out just takes one of John's cigarettes). But Freddie was on point & very serious. The press in the UK didn't take to Queen after the first album or two. At least not to Freddie. Some of the articles I've read are just downright mean about him.
@@royrowland5763 They skipped over a lot, and I feel as though they stretched the truth. I don't believe Freddie was ever that egotistical or selfish. It was a poor representation of the band, to be honest.
They're all right about the Press I heard if one Reporter who thought the name of their album "Jazz" was stupid because Queen is Rock Group, not a Jazz Group.♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
"If Mercury’s speech sounded just a tad slurred, there was a valid reason: he had been drinking. On the afternoon of the show, Freddie palled up with Spandau Ballet’s lead singer Tony Hadley. The New Romantic pop group, at the height of their powers after 1984’s platinum-selling Parade album, were on an unplanned break after an Australian tour. With nothing else to do, Hadley and Mercury opened a bottle of vodka, finished it, and then cracked open a bottle of vintage port … Come showtime, Freddie was flat on his back and needed to be helped into his stage clothes by Joe Fanelli."

I love how even though Deacy doesn’t say much, you can tell he’s just as annoyed with the critics’ negative attitude as the rest of them.
Very thoughtful answers from Freddie. Love this short interview! Thanks for posting. :-)
The fact that the critics always hated Queen ironically kind of made them cool and has made the best of their music last more than most bands.

Freddie was high af 😄
@@blackroses8342He wasn't. None of Queen were into drugs or something like that.
Talkative Freddie! 😃

And it still happened even with the movie, with the media bashing it, and the public ignoring the critics entirely.
Queen has been my favorite band for over 35 years, and I'm not part of the media... but it wasn't a great movie.

It’s true! Money brings “ants” out of the woodwork!
Freddie is so wise, wealth brings a lot of problems...so true. But why is the interviewer clutching a ladder???😂😂😂

2:08 For some reason he reminds me of Rami here. ;)
No. Freddie’s nothing like Rami. It’s a shame they casted him as Freddie.
@@blackroses8342 Could not disagree more. :) Btw it’s cast, not casted.
@@TheaterPup thanks for the correction.

I always thought that was a stupid criticism. It's like they never heard the phrase "all of that jazz", as the album was literally all of that jazz.
