I don't know how possible the conference final would be. However, if it's round 1, which ever team is waiting in round 2 for the "survivors" would have a heavily depleted team, the round 1 series would be a MASSACRE, though not literally xD.

The NHL wants to get rid of the fighting but to me it's the best part. It shows the players emotions. Like just let them fight it out what's the point of stepping in.
The conundrum that the NHL is facing is that they HAVE to pretend that they don't condone goalie fights, or any fights in general, but they also know that goalie fights are the best sellers and get top reviews.

Fighting is the best part of hockey. The NHL might not like it but it's true. The Battle of Alberta games would not have got any headlines really without the fights. Fans love it. And goalie fights are incredible!

Sportsnet absolutely shows Us vs Us teams. All the time, and often when there is a Can vs. Us/Can game on. Especially if the Canadian team is a western team. I can't count the amount of times I've looked over the 7 or so channels they have and found a Canucks/Oilers/Flames game on 1 channel and like Min vs. Columbus or something.
I don't know how the markets work, but I know Vancouver is a backzone for any area. As an Edmonton fan in around the Edmonton area. I can never watch Canucks games, or at least can't watch it when I've tried. However, if a Leafs game is on Sportsnet, it's available here. I think it has a lot to do with viewer ratings. Funny enough, the CGY-EDM game on Wednesday Jan 29 was originally a "local" broadcast, so Sportsnet, maybe the NHL itself which I find unlikely, changed the broadcast schedule from what was decided back in SEPTEMBER(I think), Sportsnet sees that the ratings are now worth it.
canadian guy here: if it’s a canadian/canadian game on, 100% it will be televised in canada. rarely will an american/american game on the same time. but 100% sportsnet will play american/american games. sportsnet always covers oilers, flames and canucks games, but they’ll show like an nbc coverage of an american/american game. however, i’ve never seen TSN show an NHL game that doesn’t include the leafs, habs, sens or the jets. Which is ridiculous because there are 5 TSN channels and SN has 6 channels (E, W, O, P, 1, 360) and every time there’ll be a big american/american game and it’ll be like plays of the month (which is frustrating). but yes occasionally (only on sportsnet however) we will see nbc or other american broadcasts of american games on Sportsnet
Krejci tied his career best in points last season and he's on pace for similar figures this year too. He's not the problem really, Bruins need a consistent top6 winger more than anything. Also arguably Bergeron is more injury prone than Krejci last couple of seasons

Sportsnet will normally put a CDN team on SN Ontario, east, west, pacific, but they can put 2 American teams on SN 1 or SN 360
I wanted to watch the Calgary vs. Edmonton game but it wasn't on any of my channels. First I checked NBCsports and nope wasn't on that so then checked NHL network and it wasn't on that , so luckily I have the Center Ice package right, but nope wasn't on there either. Oh well, watched the highlights.

If ESPN starts playing hockey it'll just be Boston, New York, LA and Chicago games. They will ignore other matchups too.

The way Canada's broadcast system works is odd. Overall, Rogers Communications, owns the rights for National coverage. Ottawa, Winnipeg, and Montreal are only broadcast, regionally, by TSN and are very rarely covered nationally, unless facing another Canadian team, or part of Hockey Night in Canada. Sportsnet owns the regional rights for Calgary, Edmonton, and Vancouver games. As for Toronto, Sportsnet and TSN. Hockey Night in Canada, Wednesday Night Hockey, and Hometown Hockey are nationally branded broadcasts.
As for all-US matchups, Sportsnet may air matchups from regional networks(such as Fox Sports or MSG), and may air NHL on NBC coverage(primary on Thursdays), as well as NBC's Sunday-afternoon games, and the winter classic. Info on when and how US-only games are broadcast is limited, however.
The Battle of Alberta has always been a thing to those involved, it's just become a national thing again which is fantastic. The next game is the last game of the regular season for both of them.... If it's a winner takes all game for a play off game, it's going to be nastier than Saturday's game.
However, even as an Oilers fan, I don't want it to be a play off series, back in the day you knew the Oilers would probably win and that made it so much easier, but getting beat by them in a play off series!! We'd have to play them again the following year to extract revenge and we can't predict either team making the play offs regular enough for it to happen often. The pain would be to much.
I think all hockey should be televised for free but then again that’s just my opinion

The Battle of Alberta for me it is the number one rivalry or derby as we would say in footbal/ Soccer in the U.K in the N.H.L as a Rangers fan I will always love The Hudson River rivalry game with the Devils & The Battle of New York with The Islanders and I also love The Battle of Pennsylvania but nothing tops

Long time viewer here and I had a suggestion (don't worry I'm going to also ask in discord) but I was thinking that since you somehow can't get ads on here and can on the second channel, what about making the second channel the "Post 2 Post" channel and rebranding this one "Post 2 Post podcast". Just a thought.

As a Seattle fan, all of the name choices have some issues. I personally like the Totems but there are trademark and cultural concerns. Kraken sounds fearsome, is absolutely unique, and could be amazing with the right marketing.

I don’t disagree but most team names are fairly generic or if you think about it not great just from the name perspective. If the marketing is done well and the team wins people in Seattle won’t care even if everyone else dislikes it.

Kraken is too remote to the city (way off, of course, as it's fictional)... I don't dig it! You need something to tie it up to the city/region. It's stupid to go with such an unrelated name (yes, I know it comes from the sea ok, but it's a really far-fetched and very thin reason imo ).
Then, it's just random. If the advantage is just good marketing opportunities, so why not go for more random "cool things": Seattle Dragons, Seattle Monsters, Seattle Aliens, Seattle Avengers... pff, I don't know. It's endless. So, it's a no-no!
Personally Im cheering for Calgary because im friends with Mike Smith but I think in a playoff series Edmonton would win because McJesus be hungry for success so yeah
