- Hello scrappers and planet lovers. In this video, I will show you all the free copper, aluminum, tin, and other metals you can get from CRT televisions. I will show you how to identify and sort the metals in order to maximize your profit and divert as much of the material away from the landfill as possible.

Can’t remember how many of those I’ve taken apart. You still told me something I didn’t know. If it didn’t look like copper, brass or aluminum I threw it away. 🐎🌻✌️
Lol, yup, don’t worry I use to bring in compressors whole without opening before I realized how much copper was inside. We all learn and make mistakes
To more easily get at the degaussing cable you can unscrew the four screws, one in each corner of the tube from the plastic to get at the degaussing cable.
Yup
Some of the black cylinders are pieces of ferrite with copper coils spun around them they will have black shrink wrap around them which is how one can differentiate them from the capacitors.
What was you talking about on capacitor and it having oil in it could you show what it was
It was the metallic cylinder on the bottom. You find them in microwaves and dehumidifiers as well. Again metallic cylinder that has wires connected to it.
Does anyone know what the piece on the circuit board is called where the red cord comes out of that connects to the tube? It has a piece of ferrite in it. I hypothesize they have copper in them but have yet to cut open any of them.
There is some copper wire in it, I cut some off and throw into my copper wire bin
Sorry at 10:03 it is a ceramic capacitors not a mlcc
One has to pay to off load CRTs in my area PA
Really wish we had somewhere in America or at least Ohio to scrap these. I scrap what I can. But the tubes they charge you $5-$10 for each one you bring in. they sit around for years cause no one wants to pay to recycle them.
Be careful on the real old ones if the stem breaks there is a chance of implosion. I recommend safety googles and gloves. There is also lead in the tubes one should be aware of. The stem is an electron gun. The pieces are made up of non magnetic stainless steel. The screws and strap that hold the yolk to the tube are non magnetic stainless steel also.
