- FLASHBACK INTERVIEW: Chris Wisnia meets James O'Barr, creator of the Crow, for the first time... back on June 3, 2011! Chris had been compiling Diary interviews for about a year at this point, and his best friend, Anthony Leano, had been witnessing what Chris was up to, even though nothing had been posted yet to the public. Anthony hosts James for a Sacramento comic con, and introduces the two, suggesting that Chris is doing a worthwhile and smart comics project, and James acquiesced to an amazing sharing of his comics career experiences. They do so at Anthony's house, where James (here) discusses the beginnings of his comics career, difficulties finding a publisher for The Crow, quitting the day job, and various idiocies of Hollywood execs he dealt with to get The Crow made into a film! James is so intelligent, entertaining, intense, friggin' hilarious, and profound, Chris found himself enrapt with every word and heartbreaking, amazing story.
We've posted edited "best of" quotes from this interview in the past. Here is part one of a truly riveting two hour interview! Half will be available only at Chris's / chriswisniaarts

Although the project fell through when Kitchen Sink Press went out of biz, I was fortunate to have been picked to do the art for "The Crow: Demon in Disguise". That was nearly 30 years ago. Crazy how time flies. I hope to one day meet James.
Cool interview. I got a chance to meet OBarr at a convention in Atlanta. He was very nice and signed a copy of the Crow for me.
bought the authors edition a few days ago. read the crow the first time over a decade ago and it still holds up.
I was obsessed with the crow comic when i was in high school. The way that man poured his pain into that book is amazing.
Richardo Greico was offered to be in the crow? Cool!
Great interview!
