Well done ladies...hopefully inspire more to take up the game. Would like to see longer games in the future rather than a first to 4. Congrats Fallon..she's my fave as i've seen her play to a really good standard against the men ..and beaten some of them.

Some very good matches there.... and a shaky at times but worty winner hit the big 140s and doubles at just the right time to take De Graff out her stride...... excellent to see the Womens game coming on. With the Rugby and Football and Cricket and W series, its awesome to see.

Great work from Sherrock, does well to handle the pressure PDC have heaped on her.
De Graafs set ups left a bit to be desired.
I am with everyone saying to extend the length of the ladies matches. Fallon can not play on a regular basis these short matches then go up and expect to play 15-20 leg matches and maintain her consistency. She can practice all she wants, but it's being tournament fit that she needs.

I think quality is growing ... and the final scene with the champion almost failing to raise the trophy is historical and "cute" at the same time !
Now that opportunities are popping up for the ladies, more will give getting good at darts a shot, and over time you'll see higher ceilings and more people at that ceiling.
Can't wait for when we have enough ladies playing at the highest levels such that we don't need a Women's Matchplay.

Was really enjoying watching the ladies, whatever's said about averages etc,the same pressures apply!!This is a professional sport, should've given marbles a day off,inane wittering as usual😴

@@furlough2327 I won't be the one stunting it's growth. The women will do that simply because it doesn't attract the numbers. Women as a general rule don't like darts. Look inside your local pub, it's mainly men playing darts while the women are yakking round a table like clucking hens.

They really should have more leg's in the woman's game! Like now Fallon goes to the Grand Slam but to win that she going to have to win 16 legs in the final and if she basically never plays that long a format then her chances of winning are far less. She nearly beat Michael Smith a month ago but faded towards the end, if it had been short format she "would" have won.
Lisa Ashton looks more and more like Gary Anderson.... or vice versa.

What does that even mean they don’t play the same amount of games/legs (not even close actually) and the revenue is just not there to pay them. Nobody stopping them from qualifying for the Matchplay either, women can play in any darts competition if they want to.

She is the world champion in WDF, this is PDC and that is why she is not here. Maybe she will transfer to PDC next year.

She was able to be there but didn't enter. There were 3 qualifying weekends for this (4 events per weekend so 12 in total, 2 per day) and there were big WDF events on 2 of the weekends. But I'm surprised she never entered the other weekend and backed herself to qualify on 4 events, which she could have done.
She's the world champion but she's also 18 which is easy to forget and she just needs to make her own career her way. So maybe she just wants to focus on WDF for now. The PDC are already talking of expanding female-specific events next year so she might do it then. Of course, the main tour is also open to females as we've seen though Lisa's tour card and participation from Fallon, Deta Hedman and Anastacia (previous tour card holders in the days before Q School), plus Mikuru in the Worlds. And Gayl King at the Circus Tavern of course (taking a set off Alan Warriner!).

May just be a coincidence, but it seems like many women players use a large droplet-style barrel? Wouldn't smaller hands go better with thinner barrels? Great to see that the PDC let women have more screen time! Hopefully more women than Fallon can compete regurally on the open tour soon!

Why do they separate mens darts from womens darts? Why not play each other?
Because men seem to have much higher averages than the ladies and the men are more consistent. MVG for example, can have an average of 110 some matches, would you want to be playing against him if your average was only 80? Definitely not me that's for sure! 😂😂
When's Beau Greaves gonna get a shot at PDC darts? Honestly this wouldn't even be challenging for her, she'd have to play with the men
She does not wanna go to PDC she told that she might think on what to do after season but she like WDF style, PDC is a bit strict and other things that is not doing her any favour but only wait and see...

Perhaps she's left eyed. Not kidding. My wife is right handed, but her left eye is dominant. She shoots well, but her technique is odd.
Same with me I'm left eye dominant and can only throw in a certain way but it seems to work for me

To anyone wondering about the shortness of the format, its the same length as the mens online darts league
It's short as the quality is low and thus is the prize money. The online darts league is several levels below the PDC. Whereas this is the top level of women's darts. What the online league does is of no relevance
@@clownworld5474 The relevance was the quality of the online darts league is the same standard or probably better as this womens event. Averages in the online darts tend to be in the 80s though many 100+ averages can be found. The womens final i think was 82 average wasnt it. I know its meant to be the top level for women but.....

I mean it was ok some decent stuff. Be better if it was a actual tournament spaced over a week as something on one day with so few legs feels like something you shouldn't get a trophy for. Get the women to play in a proper matchplay but make it proper. This feels like a undercard before a proper boxing fight.
There aren't enough players. The players that do play, many of them are of a fairly poor standard. This is painful enough to watch as it is in some parts. You'll just bore everyone

@@willhull1735 no point of making all the players spend money on travel and accommodation for a whole week (probably have to have a week off work too) when it can easily be played in 1 day. Especially with the prize money being as it is. At least it was televised and they got a decent crowd.

PDC can't make her play if she doesn't enter. Appreciate she is the best but it needs to be her decision where she plays, PDC aren't entitled to her.

Womans Tournaments needs to be longer format this 1st to 4 or 5 is far too short needs to 8 or 10 legs to win at least when it's World Matchplay and World Championships only going to help improve their scoring . That is why Fallon and Lisa are so much stronger in womans events like pro tours and now the Matchplay because they are playing the men in longer games . Also prize money needs a big increase £10,000 for the Winner is pretty low when the Men get £200,000 Woman should be getting at least £50,000 for winning the World Matchplay . Well Done Fallon !
Big prize money goes hand in hand with attendances and viewers. The pdc didn't want to make it a separate event because they knew it would create losses. That's why they played it on finals day. In today's equal society can you tell me why the women players deserve special treatment? The prize money reflects the product.

These woman want to play professional and earn a good living like the men do playing this sport as a career . Men getting £200,000 compared to just £10,000 for the woman winning the World Matchplay is far too big a gap in prize money . They are all throwing Darts at the end of the day at the same board to achieve the same outcome win the trophy and prize money so more prize money for the Ladies means more players and a bigger tournament .

Look around you, go into pubs, it's the men throwing the darts while the women are sat around the table discussing daft things like Pauline's flexitime.
If women showed as big an interest in darts as the men then it would increase exponentially.
@@ironknobsteelworks4063 How do you know woman are not playing darts in their homes , social clubs or Darts Centres together rather than just the pubs ? PDC is there to make people professionals and earn a living men & woman so there is top womans players like Lisa Ashton and Fallon Sherrock who clearly show giving the chance they are more than good enough to compete in Darts against Men and more woman players are playing and improving so prize money increases then more woman players enter top level darts and tournaments get bigger and better . You don't need to play darts in a pub these days to prove your good enough .
@@murraymclelland3161 OK then so from what you have just said there is no need to worry. Women's darts will in time become just as popular as the mens which will in turn automatically merit the same audience and prize money. You don't need to force it.
Hair and beauty is a multi billion pound industry, because it is something most women share an interest in. If they share the same interest in darts then.....
