Before I watch this I must say Bob, on the railroad track full of senders and rocks and pieces of coal, you are a rare western stone that shines, in the hearts of those that dream of a Time gone by ,a Time that is longed for with a pang deep inside , that sometimes hurts cuz we know it'll will never be again, so yes I thank my maker for someone like you, that keeps that time alive in the minds and souls of people like me that dream of all the things that we see in the shows, you have kept alive, and you are good at what you do, you are a spurred rhinestone godsend that has a passion, I thank you for that Mr Terry.
this is a great little film to show the cruelty of those who think they are empowered from birth to run the world gives you a good idea of where the scum we are dealing with to day came from, same old thing one person thanking they are owed something from those they think are less than them. the grab for power and money, and just like today the stupidity of the masses allows them to get away with it.
If you have an opportunity visit Medora and the house the Marquis built for his wife. It is simply stunning in the middle of no where. The Marquis had an excellent idea to ship cattle to Chicago. Do not approach the bison, they kill and visit the whole park there, beautiful. Do go to the musical, a bit expensive, but worth it. Find housing in Dickinson ND or west-Glendive MT.
This was such an interesting and TRUE story! Unbelievable, but we looked it up afterward, and the internet backed up the facts. In the beginning of the episode it said "Part 1"...any chance you'll be posting "Part 2"? Anyway, thanks for what you're doing--we LOVE IT!! WOW! :)
Hello Heather. Thanks for watching and commenting. I almost never watched this episode because I knew it was part 1 of 2 so I thought it would be a cliffhanger. But I finally watched it and the story wrapped up fine. Part 2 must deal with other happenings. That being said the reason this is in our Forsaken Westerns series is this is from a TV series titled Frontier. For years now all but 1 episode of Frontier have been thought to be lost. But we located a few more episodes hidden away and still on film and have included a few in our Forsaken Westerns series but a copy of King of the Dakotas part 2 has not been found and maybe lost forever.
@@westernsontheweb Bring it on!! We'll take whatever you put up! There's just something thrilling about the old westerns--and whatever it is, that magic seems to be missing from today's tv + movies. Thanks for what you're doing! 🇺🇸
If you go to Medora ND you will find this house in the middle of acreage, nothing else around. Be aware that Medora now is just commercialized, so be aware. Go for the scenery and the house tour.
Any suggestions on DVD available the has a like a collection of Western films on it? I been looking at one on eBay that has a few of the spaghetti Westerns on it and another with a collection of Lee Van Cleef films. I have always been a big fan of his. I love your channel here by the way.
Thought maybe Teddy Roosevelt was going to appear, perhaps he did in other episodes. The actor portraying cattle rancher Fred Graham was Paul Langton, later a regular on the Peyton Place TV series, where he played the character Leslie Harrington, in the mid-1960's. This episode had an interesting premise.
This episode wraps up it's own story. If the title did not say part one after watching this episode you would not even realize there might be a part 2.
Alan Hale walks circles around the main characters ineffective efforts in acting ..... horrible choice, who is this guy ? Glad Alan Hale got big shows eventually ; Casey Jones, Gilligans Island. Thanks

Hi WOTW, thanx for uploads.
Camped out in Madora in August of ' 99; it is Medorable ! Coal band striation in the sandstone is perfectly " plume " and about 15 feet below the top.
definitely didn't expect that ending.
Yeah, I wanted him dead.

Lois Lane looking mighty pretty all decked out!

Theodore Roosevelt despised the 'Teddy" nickname.
Any chance of getting part two?
Hope so

Same! We wanna hear the rest of the story!! He fits right in with the "Wild West" even though he's French. What a character! What an ego!! lol!
I think Yankton was the capital at that time, not Bismark.
Bob Terry: Was your Dad also named has your namw ever actor in the early movies???
The Dakotas

Joe Biden at 5.39.
Raymond Bailey as the Prosecutor in Court. Better known for his role in the Beverly Hillbillies as Milburn Drysdale, the banker
Not a great advertisement for American Justice or the so called American Way.
