    How to Prepare Dried fish Curry.
    Clean dried fish i.e.removing its head part and rinse thoroughly. It can be soaked in water for 30 minute to reduce the salt in it.
    For grinding masala
    10 long dry red chilies (Kashmiri Chili)
    10 short dry red chili (Adjust as per spice level)
    3 tsp coriander seeds
    1 tsp cumin seeds
    10 peppercorns( Black pepper )
    1/2 tsp mustard seeds
    1/4 tsp methi seeds
    Small lime sized tamarind
    Shallots or 1 small onion
    6 cloves of garlic
    1 cup grated coconut.
    Add enough water and grind fine masala paste.
    In a clay pot add cleaned dry fish, 1/2 tomato chopped, 1 onion chopped, salt as required ( usually less salt required for dry fish curry ), 1 cup of water mix well, cover and cook for 5 minutes in a medium flame.
    Add ground masala paste, add enough water and adjust gravy consistency, cover and cook for 5 more minutes.
    Add half finely chopped tomato, cover and switch off flame.
    To be opened after 30 minutes and serve.

    Add cashew for a similar taste of coconut. Will it do?

    Looks yummy,but you are mixing dry fish too much..gently do it so that the fish won't break
