It certainly is a beautiful city and well worth visiting. We live near Chester and took visitors there for the day last weekend. They were blown away by how lovely it was. Well worth anyone's time if you are in the area. The river is lovely too.
Chester, Oxford and Southampton are the three cities you can disappear to if you want a quiet weekend and have a bit of fun without people necessarily knowing your business. Some of the locals who aren’t used to people outside what their immediate bubble brings to them can be a bit odd but Chester and Oxford at least are nice cities.
I agree it is falling apart and out of the city local folk have to put up with weeds and very long grass growing everywhere, anti social behaviour ,dog mess, litter ,the smell of cannabis everywhere as well and we pay a very high council tax for the privilege and some people don’t feel safe at night .
Sorry I live in Chester and it’s falling apart …….. the street this video at start is showing is now closed. No trade for those businesses anymore…… wall in danger of collapse at the bottom of that street next to the cross……. Main bridge into Chester hit by car now unsafe …… two parts of historic wall has also collapsed….. cwac does not know who is responsible so will not get fixed Chester is a blame everyone else except the council…….. Chester walls were first built 100s of years a go with a Roman with a pencil behind his ear and a leather skirt…… no jcb no power tools and here we are in Chester and can’t fix the walls we have jcbs and lifting gear and good crafts men but yet can’t fix a broken wall or bridge or broken church wall …..Chester is a mess and the council need to be investigated
@@bobsapp3133 did I mention watergate street ……. If you want to be picky ….. north gate street next to the cross by 18ft and it’s going to be closed for a very long time …….. no I don’t do crack just saying how much Chester is falling apart and cwac don’t want to take responsibility…….. did you see police report on Monday on new city laws on drinking in the centre / sitting outside bars …. Because of all the problems with drunks …… Friday afternoon I was with some Americans who’s first visit to uk now wish they went to Paris and not of wasted there money …. Chester council have been advertising Chester as one of best cities in the world …… what a joke ….and if you was a resident of Chester would you not want the council to start putting Chester back together again
@@tomengineer1467 you said the street the video at the start is showing, which is watergate street. Northgate street isn't closed either, all the shops are still open as usual. It's just blocked off at one end while they carry out maintenance work. You can still walk down it, visit all the shops and go through it via the rows.
@@bobsapp3133 northgate street starts at the cross as does bridge street and watergate street…… but still does not matter the path in the video going past Starbucks (which is northgate street) as of this morning now has a prohibition on it street now closed till further notice which will be years. Stoke-on-Trent as well. Even if someone knows, they still won’t care.
York - but there are also many good places that you could go
Really love uk cities so much better than Usa cities which are too car dependent
