Thank you for making this. I wasn't sure if I needed the creator combo for the pocket 3, because I already have the DJI mic. This eased my mind about it.
When you say "I already have the DJI mic", I assume you mean the DJI Mic 2. The Mic 2 transmitter can connect directly to the P3. The original DJI Mic "1" transmitter only connects to the dedicated receiver.
Thank you so much TTL, in less than one minute you have made me understand how to re-pair. Great to make it possible to understand simple things super quick. With this great job you have earned my thumb up and a subscription 😀
Thank you very much for the video. I couldn’t figure out how to pair the mic that came with the DJIP3 to the Mic2 receiver. Pressing that record button to switch modes was the trick. Thanks for concise explanation.
Thank you so much for this video, it was helpful! I have the exact same equipment as you (Pocket 3 Creator Combo plus DJI Mic 2). I wonder what would happen if I pop the Mic 2 transmitter that came with the Pocket 3 into the Mic 2 case to charge. Would it forcibly unlink it from the Pocket 3?
No, as long as you are in the Bluetooth mode, it will just charge. You can even switch it back and forth between Bluetooth and “receiver” mode, and it will automatically connect to the P3 whenever in Bluetooth mode.
I can't figure out why my wireless mic will not re-connect automatically back to the camera. I had mine set up correctly for the first day (I'm a newer owner). My mic just keeps blinking blue and will not re-connect automatically. Each time I have to re-pair them if I re-start one of them. Is there some setting I'm missing?
@@ttl_channel Thank for the response. Literally like 5 minutes ago I decided to reset the camera back to factory default. I was trying to avoid that. I first did it with the mic and that did nothing. After I reset the camera back to factory and re-paired everything, now it is back to working like a charm. Not sure what happened and why it would not re-connect before. Thanks again.
@@amazigh_dounia I did not reset the mic. I reset my camera back to factory using the menu options in the camera. Then repaired it to the mic. I still find that about once a month I have to manually repair but it does so easily at least.
Does the mic 2 connect to the Pocket 3 only with Bluetooth and is there lag time in the audio of the video? Does it connect to the Mic 2 receiver with a different wireless connection with no lag time? and does the Mic 2 that comes with the DJI Pocket 3 creator combo package also connect with Bluetooth? Please clarify, thanks
The connection between the P3 and Mic2 seems to be far more than just Bluetooth. Check out my video on this topic: ua-cam.com/video/QGMUfvxaPig/v-deo.html
If you have the creator combo rather than buying the Dji mic 2 combo could you just buy one more mic2 for £89 and then connect both mics via Bluetooth? Would the work together?
Great video! I own a Mic 2 and thinking about purchasing the Pocket 3. Do you still get the same control setting on the Osmo Pocket 3 like the receiver?
I decided to buy the Creator Combo set "without the mic" (from a Facebook Marketplace) as the seller wants to use it for his other camera and I already have a set of DJI Mic 2. Saved a bit over €110 for not having a third DJI Mic TX. This "switching" from Pocket 3 and the RX is just clever. Besides, when I used the mic on a7IV, I only needed one TX. Thanks for the tips!
I have both the DJI Pocket 3 & Action 5 Pro and a Mic 2 transmitter. It was shocking to learn that you cannot switch the mic between both cameras, without having to pair them up again.
Hey Man! Love your content! As a fellow videographer, audio monitoring is key for me. I've been trying to connect my DJI Pocket 3 or DJI Mic 2 to my bone conduction headphones via Bluetooth while recording for wireless audio monitoring. I've asked around on UA-cam and the DJI forum but no luck so far. Any chance you could share a wireless solution? Thanks a bunch!...... really appreciate your help here...
@@ttl_channel Than you for your reply, appreciate it...Subscribed already..... i did tried all sort of BT transmitter no luck so far.....Thanks anyway, i will search more.....
What's the purpose of having it paired to the receiver.. for example what would you use it for when connected to the receiver rather than just Bluetooth connected to the osmo
Honestly speaking, your explanation is more accurate and helpful than any other explanation. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful - thank you!
5:20 is why I watched your video. THANK YOU!! I thought it was broken and didn't know I had to REPAIR again with the receiver again. phew...
Superb explanation! Now really easy to know when my mics are paired to what. Blue light means Pocket 3, Green light means Mic 2 receiver - so simple!
Glad it was helpful!
This was brilliantly explained and saved me so much time searching!

I never comment on anything but you SAVED me, thanks!!!!

The optimal method for connecting the mic2 to the P3 and the receiver, and vice versa, is explained here. Well done!
Glad I could help.
Great video, thanks for the detailed explanation about hot swapping the mic between the OP3 and DJI Mic 2 Receiver.
Glad you enjoyed it - thanks for watching.
Great video.. Will this also work with the dji mic 1? Thank you in advance
Unfortunately no. The original DJI Mic does not have a Bluetooth function.

Thanks for making this video, the best one I've seen about doing this!
Glad you liked it!
Will the pocket 3 pair with the original wireless mic1 or does it only work with mic2?
No, the Mic 1 only works with the receiver.
Thanks for the video! I was curious about this
No problem! Thanks for watching.
Waooouw thank you.. DJI is just fantastic, THX for these very simple and clear demo...

Thank you for this video! It helped me massively
Glad you found it helpful. Thanks for watching.
This maybe a stupid question but when and why would you use the receiver instead of the DJI pocket directly?
Thank you! I was concerned about this thing before buying, but now I'm ready to pull the trigger

Are you pairing to a different device in between? That’s the only thing I can think of. Otherwise, it should reconnect automatically.

When I press and hold the mic2 recording button for more than 3 seconds, the blue light does not appear. I have tried many times. What should I do?
I guess it must be defective. I can only suggest to contact DJI tech support.
Your explanation is very good thank you :)

Yes, that works.
I believe that’s the way BT devices work with each other - once paired it stays paired. You just have to be familiar with the re-pairing process
I was getting so frustrated just unboxed and could not sync my mic
Does this also work for the Pocket 2?
Unfortunately not, but there is a dedicated wireless microphone for the P2, which is excellent.
can the transmitter be used with a PC instead. I make tutorials online and would like to record using OBS, but am looking for a suitable mic.
Have not tried it, but it’s Bluetooth so I don’t see why not.
Great video! I own a Mic 2 and thinking about purchasing the Pocket 3. Do you still get the same control setting on the Osmo Pocket 3 like the receiver?
Not quite as much as through the receiver, but most, e.g. mic gain, low-cut, video-sync, 32-bit, LED, vibrate,...
@@ttl_channel Thank you!!!
Hello, anybody knows if the mic included on the Osmo Pocket 2 Creator Combo work with the Osmo Pocket 3? Thanks!
I believe not. I tried it when I first got my P3 but was unable to pair it.

Well if the P3 is your only camera, then there is none, but if you want to use your DJI microphone on other cameras, then you may need the receiver.
Right on thanks for the response!
