  • Hello there everyone this video is simply just an unboxing/install of our new tailgate mounting brackets for our bikes. We know that being able to take your bicycles on camping trips is a fun and rewarding experience, and having a way to take them along in a safe and easy way is what we all stride for. We found a way to secure our bikes to our convenient factory installed RV tailgate and we just want to share it with all of you. We hope you enjoy and may this video be helpful to anyone looking for a product similar as this.

These kind of work. But when the hitch rack bounces going down the road they do not instill confidence. Still need some kind of verticle support to keep the bikes from rocking side to side in the wheel holders. It's like HALF done. It's annoying to have to use tons of ratchet straps because it makes it harder to cover the bikes and get them on and off. If you use a cover get a cargo net to throw over the cover so your cover doesn't get shredded by the wind.

I purchased the same setup and I too told my wife I needed larger washers. Quickly went on UA-cam to see if anyone made a video related to this kit. Thanks for the video will help out a lot when installing mine.

I think that you made a good decision on centering the bike mounting. Blocking any operating lights in a world of bad drivers is never a good idea. Keep making videos!

This is one of the features of the particular TT that my wife loves. We have to have the drop gate to carry our bikes, and this rack assembly will be perfect for us. THANKS!!!

Tried this and used an extra rachet strap. Took a little time to get it right but bikes seemed secure. Used an extra ratchet strap for back up...thank god. The weight of the E bikes, the movement of the storage rack on bumps and also the grate movement within 1 hour on the 95 we were waved down because the bikes came loose and One was dragging. We saved the bikes ( a minor scraping on one of the handle bars) but had no choice but to try again. We had to lean the bikes against our fifth wheel and ratchet strap them down. We made it to the campsite but once again the bikes came out. Going to buy a bar and attach it upright as a normal trailer hitch bike rack would be as the setup is not secure enough for the weight of Ebikes.

Just know that bounce a lot back there so I chavo the carrying capacity on that bumper and cage. Bouncing loosing screws and bolts. And I think the handle bar gonna hit the camper and brake it

I was watching another channel, I cant recall which one. But they mounted a similar carrier on the square tube bumper .
And the welds began to crack from all the weight and movement.
I think ultimately they had some beefier brackets welded from the frame onto the tube.
Just a heads up. It would suck to drop your bikes , for you and people behind you.
Hope you guys are getting some good use out of your trailer.

Once you remove your bikes, can you close the cargo carrier without removing the bike racks?

Will you go solar at some point? Being down here in the South, take advantage of the free power.

@@underdawning6679 I bought a 180w from Bouge RV (bougerv.com) for $150 during a sale around November. Caveat: it's a slow turnaround, then the company closed bc of covid but they reached out & informed me, giving me some free stuff for the delay. Spoke with them this week and told me there back running & I should get it in Feb (as stated). I bought the exact trailer 3 weeks ago, but have not been able to use it yet. I towed it from the dealership to storage. I’m really nervous about having to back it into a campsite at some point. Any advice? I’m enjoying your videos!

    • @underdawning6679

Only advice is patience is key to everything. Make everything step count even if it seems unnecessary, it’s more of a muscle memory thing for the most part. And just have fun, something is bound to go wrong it always does but overcoming it and having a good time will always out way the bad times. Thank you for the support.

As with any trailer, the best advice is to practice. Go to an empty parking lot and just get used to it. Get some cones or use the parking lines to practice "backing into a site". You will get used to it. My popup is 7.75 and our garage is 8', better believe I went to a lot to practice many times before attempting to back it into the garage. But now, it is a piece of cake!!! Good luck, and have fun camping!!!!

Did you strap the bike in once on the cargo carrier. We have the same camper. Have you traveled with the bike on board yet?

    • @underdawning6679
      @underdawning6679  3 роки тому +1

Yes we have and they hold up great, those brackets are a must buy. Strapping down was easy but I used a ratchet strap instead of the ones provided.
