“Look! Not down at the ground, Edith - way up there in the sky!” “A surprising number of human beings are without purpose, though it is probable they are performing some function unknown to themselves.” “Everything begins and ends at exactly the right time and place.” “Waiting a million years … just for us.”

The pan pipes stuff gets the spotlight but I think this is the music that really makes this film. A dated kind of sound but that just adds to the atmosphere. Epic before its time.
maria mcdermott Like prying on someone else’s dream... To this day I have never seen a film that captures a state of pure surreal dream like state. Amazing. Will never be bettered!!
Néstor Castiglione You are absolutely right, sir. Just listen these two songs from Final Fantasy IX, "Memories of that day" ua-cam.com/video/hWn5CkA_a-4/v-deo.html and "Danger in the forest" ua-cam.com/video/-LcE0vE4bes/v-deo.html this last one after minute 1:30, they look incredibly similar, with a misterious and ominous tone.

beautiful but a complete ripoff of Hall of the mountain grill by hawkwind
Diese Musik ist so Mystisch, der Film hat mich schon als Teeni fasziniert, ist aber schon lange her.
What we see and what we seem are but a dream - a dream within a dream
I love how Weir transforms Lindsay's question of 'fact or fiction' into 'dream or reality'. It feels like more than just an adaptation.
Opening the movie with the Edgar Allan Poe quote is genius
A dream within a dream
Excellent piece from an extraordinary piece of atmospheric filmmaking !

Hall Of The Mountain Grill by Hawkwind from 1974. The origin came from this song
Mike! Put away the piano you silly goose! 😂😂
was the soundtrack released on the album?
I’m not aware of any soundtrack ever being released.
