Excellent album from my favourite Prince era 92-95. Europe loved the album and live shows. We had some songs played live at Wembley 92/93 too. Come, TGE, Exodus is a great run. So many outtakes I hope get a vault release 👍🏼💜
LOVE the Dark vibe of the COME album complimented by Terry Gydesen's superb B&W photography (from the "Sacrifice of Victor" book). I remember I had just gotten a black dual cassette stereo system with a CD player and turntable right before COME came out. Went out and bought COME and was (like I always was) BLOWN AWAY by the music and album photography. I had also gotten a copy of Exodus and that and COME STILL rock my mp3 player. Anyway, for me, the standout tracks are "COME", "Space", "Letitgo" (wish there was an official video-I still have a vivid visual concept for a video), "Dark" - LOVE the Old-School Soul feel of this one: reminds me of old-school Al Green , "Papa" - LOVE the BLUES feel and how it switches to hard rock at the end, "Solo", and "Race". If I had had a chance to sit down and pick Prince's brain, this album would definitely be one of the MANY things I would ask him. Also love the transitional/funeral theme (Prince 1958-1993) as well. Peace & Be Wild.
Nicely put sir. I remember walking into HMV the day it came out and seeing both Come and 1-800 New Funk on new releases shelf. Became the soundtrack to my uni days! 94-96😀
I agree, that album was wildly underrated then and now. Everyone poo pooed it when it came out but I loved. As for legacy, when I am watching the video and breaking into song everytime you showed some lyrics, thats a sign the shit was memorable. I did a video years ago waxing rhapsodical about it (2019 I think). The title track is amazing and Space, Pheromone, Dark and Letitgo are amongst his strongest ever songs.
Just saw it…..dang…all this time I never knew it was fuscia pink…and apparently they had a listening party at Paisley on the 16th with all the memorabilia….so jealous…hope video leaks from that….thanks for the info…..
Still trying to find a live version of Pheromone…all I come up with is the background beat playing at a fashion show……there’s got to be some bootleg out there….it’s my Moby Dick…..thanks again for upload.
@@qwertyzxaszc6323 what about The Gold Experience? To me, that’s the Purple Rain of the 90’s 💜 outstanding album! Anyway … I love ALL of his 90’s catalogue … my favourite era.
@@sallykinley5939 I'm glad that there are a few people that like his 90's albums. Notice my picks are not the ones these people might choose. I love Prince where he went his own way and off the beaten path. Most of his 90's work is corny and derivtive. His attempts at mainstream are grotesque. I find the Gold Experireince and most of his 90's output grotesque.

Great video Mr Ant! I underrated this album at the time, but it’s wonderful to be able to rediscover some of this stuff afresh. What a legacy.
I absolutely love this album !
Such a good album, Space is one of my favs, a great track
Agreed - and the remixes are NICE too! I used to play them at a radio station I worked at in college as well as "Letitgo".
@@cjsvoiceworks6008 The remixes were on repeat in the car for sure

I agree, especially the Universal love mix.

My favorite album!!! Love this era and best album cover!!!!
It's just completely blown my mind that his suit was actually fuchsia pink!!
Really? Holy crap. I never knew that.
@@Flippertickle yeah, the Prince estate posted some pictures on Instagram the other day of his suit … a head busting moment 🤣

Interactive did not end up on The Gold Experience. ;-)

I like it. I think it's one of prince's only good 90's albums. The Truth, Come and Chaos and Disorder are the only 3 90's albums I can listen to.
