I worked for Brenntag Chemical for 8 years , then retired at 66. Delivered various chemical using air pressure to unload the tankers. Propylene Glycol, soda ash , sodium hydroxide , sulfuric acid . Enjoyed the work . Nice instructional video . Thank you
Man this is a great learning video. I know this guy personally and I’m not going to give his name out but he is a great trainer at my facility also there are other great trainers at our facility. Thank you for this video, it’s a hood video to refresh your memo when you out there on your own. We need more videos, so keep them coming!!!
I used to do this back in 2008-2010. Then went to chlorine delivery for 13 years. Retired from that and now I have been offered a job delivering LIN/LOX again. I will be back at it next week!
I’ve been trucking for nearly 4 years now, mainly Reefer and Dry Van (all OTR), but I’ve recently started hauling fuel as a local driver but the pay is trash. I’m considering switching to Cryogenic Chemical Tanker side of the business but not sure yet and honestly, kinda nervous about it. Great video, and this made it look reasonable.
Used to make LOX/LIN when I was in the Air Force. If you get it on yourself, DO NOT RUB IT. It will feel like you're on fire. There's also a physic effect, Lindenfrost or whatever it's called. You can expose bare skin to LOX/LIN for 1 second, without any harm. Used to stun all my co-workers when I would quickly dip my entire bare hand into a tub of LIN. How much is fuel hauling paying, that is trash? Heard they pay good. Trying to get my Hazmat again, so I could do fuel, or cryogenics.
I dont know if am correct am also a new driver . Ones you get to the customer. Set your pto and power the trailer. Put your cones ready around the truck. Get the reading from the tank and change the gasket on the customer tank. Open the Drain valve on the customer tank and hook the hose. Next will be easier
Naw you don’t set the PTO first because running the PTO you are placing wear on the Engine. That should be the last thing you run and the 2nd thing you shut off after delivery
Yes you are correct that is the order just as you said ….Set your PTO , cones out and take your readings first and change your gasket on the customer tank and open your drain
If there not fitting the flank needs to be replaced over the years they get out of shape but most of the time they don’t get replace u just have to do ur best if it start leaking on u a couple more hammer taps help
Honestly, I’ve been hearing that cryogenic is the way to go in the Tanker division and that’s where all the money is at. Now, I have to ask, does it depend on where you live as far as making good money is concerned, or is that irrelevant?
@@JuneBugginTrucking I'm living in Tennessee for example with my salary here I can buy a 4000 square foot house and I got money for a Porsche 911 and still skinny you don't drive in this division you use skills and 💪 s
@@JuneBugginTruckingmost places is similar. As long as you don’t live in California or Washington. Then it doesn’t matter how much they pay you. You still can’t afford anything lol.
I know ya comment 10months old but did you mean you doin this now as owner op or you meant like no more owner op? Cuz i was hopin to haul this stuff as owner op in future. Right now im in trainin for this, haulin nitrogen.
This is not the correct way to deliver cryogenic materials. #1 you don’t allow the openings of the hose to touch the ground unless they have dust caps. #2 you don’t open the hose drain first. You are suppose to verify you’re at the correct tank, and then check the Top & Bottom fill valves before you open the Hose Drain. You don’t want liquid to escape. The reason to purge the line is to make sure that the gas pressure pushes out any impurities before delivery. You must cool down your pump for a minimum of 10 mins but no more than 20 mins. Reason being is that the pump has a spring that retracts once the pump reaches a certain temperature. If it doesn’t retract you will end up damaging the seals and liquid will start leaking during delivery. The reason you don’t want it to cool past 20 mins is because there’s bearing inside of the pump and once the shaft is too cold it starts to burn the bearings which also damages the pump. You need to allow the pump to cool to -238° because cryogenics is liquid between -238° and -500° This guys doesn’t know that you don’t run your PTO to its max on a low pressure tank. He works for Messer and this is why Messer trailers were always in horrible shape!
There is a man that is asking me to translate to Spanish you video, but there are some technical words that I don't understand, can you contact me to help me understand? please.
Is this similar to working for Linde? Whats the requirements experience wise, for a new cdl, with hazmat endorsement, are there any companies that will train a new cdl , here in CA? Thanks God Bless
@@MrDmacc1 Yes Messer delivers same gases as Linde. Generally these companies look for 2 years tanker exp or 3 years of tractor-trailer exp + clean driving record and all that other good stuff. But I believe Messer hires with 1 year of exp. By the way these are really good paying jobs 👍🏼

I am doing this in Korea. We handle nitrogen, but we also handle liquid oxygen and liquid argon. Today is my day off.
How you get that job in Korea?
which one of these gases is the most difficult to work with and why?

Where did you get that hard hat with the full face shield that folds into the helmet?

If you have a 2 piece dust cover remove the inner piece and use it to tamp the gasket into place.
Show that inch gauge who’s boss! I wouldn’t but your female dust cap on your bumper. I noticed you said “fire block” are LIN fires very common?
