Cuz I think the big difference is the UK version relies too heavily on UK-specific things (every episode mentions a satsuma or an aubergine, whatever tf those are), whereas NZ knows it needs broader appeal. I also think the "pick on the assistant" bit is better in the NZ version; it feels more like a friend group having one person to pick on rather than a cartoonishly weird character the script needs to make fun of.
