Hey! I'm Christy :) I am a mama of 6 through adoption and birth. We're a colorful family with a variety of ethnicities living in Las Vegas. Welcome to my channel and all the love and chaos that comes with it! My husband and I grew our family through foster care adoptions. I invite you to subscribe to follow our foster to adoption journey and see how I manage my large family.
My ultimate goal is to empower others on their own foster or adoption journeys. It really takes a village and it's so much easier to share the journey. I hope my channel educates, inspires, and helps you connect with others on the same journey.

I have a 16 - almost 17 yr old step son and 8 yr old daughter. My husband and I typically buy between 8- 12 gifts each for them. We try to get what they want and need. We don't do Santa. We never have. My stepson honestly never wants much, and all he cares about now a days is getting money. I will say my mother buys them each anywhere between 10 and 14 gifts. Those are her only grandkids, so I'm really grateful for her because they always have 20 or more gifts to open every Christmas
We do:
4 things you want
3 things you need
2 things you wear
1 thing to read
And 1 thing I (mom) want you to have
Santa brings one thing each that was bought out of the want, wear, and need categories- I don't have the room to hide a bunch of Santa gifts, so Santa brings 3 things.
Santa does Stockings as well.
As a child Santa filled our stocking and brought one gift for Christmas morning….the presents were under the tree from Mom & Dad soon after the tree was decorated ( I’ve done the same tradition for my kids too 🥰 ) 🎄⛄️🎄⛄️🎄
We don’t do Santa’s - however my sister does with her kids and they just do stockings from Santa 🎅🏽.. gifts are all from parents
I have never done stockings. I always wrap and put them under as I receive them. Everything is under the tree all of December. They like to guess, but they are good about not touching. Ages 6, 5, 3 months
I have a 10 year old son and the big gifts are always from mom (single mom) because not everyone receives big gifts from Santa: so I make Santa gifts on the simple side. This year my son his getting a Nintendo switch (the big thing he asked for) and that is from mom. Hope that makes sense! Love your channel! Merry Christmas! 🎄🎅🏻
Merry Christmas and a bright and prosperous New Year for you and your family. My sons are older and prefer money. We buy them one big gift and a couple of smaller things.
Thank you for sharing. You look beautiful
I usually put Santa’s gifts in a Santa bag I have but my boys have never even acknowledged what has come specifically from Santa. The only thing I like to do is wrap all the gifts and place some under the tree then put the rest out Christmas Eve. I remember waking up on Christmas morning and there would seem to be a lot more gifts and it was so exciting. I wasn’t taught to believe in Santa but when I saw the extra gifts I would think maybe there is a Santa. My youngest still believes but he’s def questioning things. So just trying to keep the magic alive! Another thing my parents would do is keep a gift hidden and after we think we have opened everything they’d surprise us with one more gift. We like to do that if we have something really exciting to gift them.
So for us (mom of 6 also) Santa brings stockings but leaves room for mom to put some things in as well (stocking are my FAVORITE 😊) and he brings one or two smaller gifts.
We only do 1 present from Santa and never the most expensive. Everything else comes from us. We do stockings Christmas Eve and everything else on Christmas.
Thanks for sharing all your gift ideas ❤ Merry Christmas!
I love that most are from mom and dad :)
I love the pickle idea My boys are grown I do Santa sacks same thing as a stocking but a sack I do Santa sacks for my husband 2 sons and my sons girlfriend. Santa Sacks/stockings are my favorite things to do.. On my gifts I just put the persons name I don’t put a from. Merry Christmas your family is adorable ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I got a couple of nieces and nephews I wrap each one of their presents in different Wrapping paper I don't put nothing up under the tree until Christmas eve night
Are used to not put presents under the tree until Christmas morning for the wow faster, I loved watching their surprised faces. The past few years I have put a few presents under the tree until all of them were there Christmas Eve, it’s exciting for the kids to watch. This year I can’t because I have a toddler lol
We don’t do gifts from Santa, we talk about the birth of Jesus Christ and t why we celebrate with gifts. We also volunteer at our local shelter, adopt a family in need. We put gifts under the tree Christmas Eve, we only put gifts for other family members under it before.
All the Christmas gifts are fantastic thanks for sharing 😊 5:44
Happy Holidays to the Gior family and joy and peace .
Pretty much everything under the tree was all from Santa besides a big gift from us. Stockings were from Santa too. We just wanted it to feel extra magical. My kids are tweens/preteen now so that phase is over now but it was so fun! ❤💚
Hello!!! I’m a mom of 5.. my kids are now grown 23,19,18,16 and I have 1 little 6yr old.. when they were lil all their gifts and stockings were from Santa, I managed to keep them believers till about 7 or 8 grade😝 than I told them once they turn 13, Santa no longer brings them gifts, there for all gifts are now from mom and dad. I still get all of them a good amount of gifts now they are older, I still have them write me a handwritten Xmas list(no txting it) and of course my little still writes his list to Santa 🎅🏽…
Hey! love your videos, your such an awesome mamma 😘 We have santa bring 1 tree present and a stocking similar to what you got your kids and then from mum and dad we do the 'want, need, wear, read' thing and it works really well for us! We have 2 girls ages 11 and 8. Merry Christmas! 🎄❤️🎄
Great stockings. Love the pickles. 🧑🎄
❤❤❤
I grew up with Santa only filling my stocking so that's what we do ! Santa doesn't need all that credit 😂
I agree I’m at that point in my life where I don’t want to give all the credit to the big man lol this year we are doing stockings only.
The pickle idea is so cute 😍
If you still have them I’d like to know what you give the teachers for gifts.
I typically have Santa bring the smaller things and the bigger requested gifts from mom and dad. I always worried if Santa got a big gift for my kids and another kid got something small instead it would feel unfair to them. I may be overthinking it but that’s what we do. Oh and Santa fills stockings.
My son is 9 and for now just do his most wanted gift from Santa but not always big this year he asked for a Stanley cup. Always do an activity and books. Also do stocking from Santa😊
I love how everyone is so different though and great ideas!!
Love that!
We've never done Santa so all the gifts come from myself and my husband. The kids are just as excited about it so... yea there's that. No Santa here
A lot of people I know do it this way
Did I miss it or where is your stocking?
We have a different tradition, on the 6th december Saint Nicolas comes. Under the christmas tree there will be toys and some small presents for mom , dad and the cat. On new year, after reading there newyears letter he'll get another present (not sure what yet). The gifts always lays under the tree and sometimes there will be a few more after a few days.
I love it, thank you for sharing your tradition.
Hugs ❤
Just want to let you know, that those 2 Lego bricks come off, on that type of Lego hot wheels. 😊 In our family the elf fill the stocking, Santa gives one gift that he puts next to his cookie plate (not the biggest but normal size nice gift) and all under the tree is from us. 😊 Great video. 😊
I love the idea of the elf filling, genius.
@@ChristyGior8 We are from Scandinavia and I think it’s a Nordic tradition that the elves give gifts in the stockings. They are not “elf on the shelf” but like the Easter bunny who leaves the Easter basket without being seen. The elves will also sometimes put a small gift in the stockings during December so the kids check their stocking all the time leading up to December. They will do it when the kids sleep or are at school. 😊
I do the stockings,me and my fiance ' buy all the gifts.and santa bring 1 small gift.
I once read this thing that said please stop giving expensive gifts from Santa when some people can’t afford expensive things and the kids think they were not good because they didn’t get the iPad or video games their friends got. Give expensive gifts from mom and dad and
For my toddler , i do all gifts from Santa and the Gang (Mrs Claus, Rudolph, Bumble,Frosty,Etc) ❤
That is adorable
I think I might take that idea even for the big kids, it’s so cute
I don't go that cheap with the kiddos because they only stay small for so long and they deserve a descent Christmas! I buy them gifts and it doesn't involve food in their stockings unless it's candy!
santa never wrapped anything nor did he leave handwriting evidence. he would bring one thing, just like your house.
please watch the SNL skit- Christmas Morning Moms robe LOL....love ya girl!
Im thinking of transitioning from Santa bringing the one thing they really want to Santa stuffing their stocking and bringing a holiday bag, so in the bag I will put a few of their smaller gifts and whatever doesnt fit in their stocking, snackwise. Im kinda tired of Santa stealing all the thunder 😂
Good idea! We did Santa bags for a couple years when they asked for smaller items I just put all the kids in one or two bags.
When my kids were little, we did three gifts from Santa - like the wise men gave to Jesus. Santa also did stockings. All other gifts were from us.
I love that special meaning
Hello Christy. Don't you have a stocking for mama herself?
I’m sure I will, but mama doesn’t do it for herself :)
it says 1 year old girl 😭 (she’s 11 in case anyone doesn’t know)
All gifts come from Santa mom and dad do stockings.
That’s so interesting, I love hearing how others do it
Where is your stocking an presents
Christmas hasn’t happened yet lol
I only have a 4 y old (almost 5). He loves santa. We've never specified where anything comes from unless its from grandma or a specific family friend.
I was actually against doing santa at all but his dad pointed out theres no way to keep him from hearing about santa and didnt want him telling other little kids santa isnt real, and ruining other families traditions. This community of ambiguity is exactly why i hate the santa concept to begin with. Im not sure what age we'll start specifying gifts that come from us. I think we're just playing it by ear/letting dad handle it.
For now our real struggle is keeping him out of presents until xmas day! 😅
Did you do your little boys " what i got " for christmas ?. I think i missed it.
That will be out tomorrow :) that is the last one in the series and then will start wrapping!
Santa brings a need item and book .
Santa brings unwrapped toys (two) everything else is from Momma and Daddy or family members. Once the children didn't believe in Santa then Santa stopped giving them gifts and only visited the younger kids who did believe. The older kids kept the secret.
Do you do stockings?
@@ChristyGior8 Santa just puts edible things and one to two very small toys in the stockings. Our tradition is an orange in the toe and a banana hanging out the top. (family joke).
the kids stocking stuffers seem kinda useless. hopefully they get better Xmas gifts
Useless how? Everything can be played for or consumed
