OMG!! I couldn't imagined how easy it was to pronounce the consonant L, especially the dark L!! I have learnt and practiced for years but still couldn't pronounce it properly until your demonstration of the tongue movement.THANKS!!!! LIKED AND SUBSCRIBED!!

Anna, your pronunciation series are invaluable to self-learners. Years ago, before the proliferation of pronunciation videos, it was really tough to learn English phonetics through some dry pronunciation books. I still remember the hard time I had trying to make /æ/ sound different from /e/ or /a:/. Mind you, there was no structured phonetic teaching in the education syllabus in my times (in my country). Really, pronunciation should be learned through direct teaching or videos like these.

Your collection of pronounciation videos is rapidly growing! They are so useful! Thank you, Anna, for creating them! Question: when you were asked about your favorite British singers you did not mention the name of Nic Chiappetta. Why?

It's NOT, "Pronounciation," Zhanna, its, "Pronunciation." Pronounced as, "Pro-nun-cia-tion." A small correction. I'm still a learner myself. Please, don't mind me. Cheers! ❤️🌹👍

    Hi Anna,
There is a light /l/ and a very dark /-l/ in my language and both are different phonemes which change the meaning of the words!..

Anna, does it mean that "soft L' will be before the a,e,i and so on or there are some special rules for using "firm L' and ' soft L'
    Olga

    • @andyboa8107
      @andyboa8107 6 років тому

Yeah. If you pronounce a vowel after L in a word, regardless the spelling, it will be light L. But I am not that sure if L is at the end of a word but next word strarts from vowel like in "mull over" as oppesed to "mulled over" where there is the consonant D, so L must be dark. I suppose that both L would do in "mull over" or "all in one" But maybe a pro would chime in?

Yesterday I had a very nice Skype session with lovely Anna. We talked about my English, her moving house this summer and many other things like that… Anna corrected my mistakes and pushed me to speak English. It was nice. I can hear the difference between the vowel sound in these individual words "gone" and "can't", but i'm not able to distinguish these in normal speaking, i mean in a whole sentence. Is that ok pronouncing these vowel sounds in the same way when speaking? Plz help me Anna, thanks in advanced.

My Cheese Cake, Anna, is it "Pronunciation"? Or, "Pronunciation"? Which one is correct - the former? Or the latter? Because, I request you to replay this particular video for yourself and listen carefully how you pronounced the word, "Pronunciation".
This is not intended to tarnish your image, or anything else of that sort. I'm one of your subscribers and huge fan of your classes. ❤️🌹👍👍👍

The correct pronunciation of pronunciation is Pro-nun-citation. :)

@@EnglishLikeANative Oh! I'm really sorry, Ms. Anna. There's a typo. I meant to ask, "is it pronunciation? Or, pronounciation? " And I really thank you for your kind reply. The reason I asked this question, if you replay this video, you'll notice that you pronounced "pronunciation" as "pro-noun-ciation". That's why. I don't mean to find faults in others, but I just wanted to point out but out of pure affection and immense respect I've had for you. You're one of the Best out there in the Market. I really thank you from the bottom of my heart. I've been able to learn a lot from your lessons. Please, continue posting videos, you're changing the lives of many across the world by making (us/them) better speakers.
By the way, I'm Solomon Kumar from South Central India, the State of Andhra Pradesh. Where I was born & live currently was once a famous and popular British Headquarters. They took the gill of a huge fish from here. You can see this gill is displayed the London Museum.
We all (subscribers) love you so much and we need your kind continued help in improving our communication skills. Please, guide us. My special love to you from India. The funny thing is I'm an English teacher myself. But I guess you know our standards. Once again, thank you so much, Ms. Anna, for your kind and amazingly life-changing lessons. May God Bless You. ❤️❤️🌹🌹🙏

@@EnglishLikeANative Ms. Anna, good morning to you. I hve a special request and I sincerely trust that you would most certainly be able to help me out.
If I have a strong grievance and I wish to raise it bv before His Majesty's Royal Office, I would very much appreciate if you could, please, tell me what the most respectful and professional way of drawing (a grievnce) to Their Royal Attention is?
And most important of all, if you're a true loyalist of the British Monarchy, Ms. Anna, my profound condolence to the entire world those who're mourning the Heart-Breaking demise of Her Majesty, The Legendary Queen Elizabeth the II, the longest ever to rule the Kingdom. I'm sure, you're not an exception. May God grant Her Soul Eteral Peace. Amen.
