Whitney Houston is the best singer of all time. That is a literal fact. It's not just about how beautiful her voice is. Her attention to detail is amazing. Pay attention to the subtle things in this song: 1) where she places her vibrato. where she leaves it out and throws it back in consistently changes, keeping the song interesting and making every note have its own character. 2) how she makes some notes seemlessly blend with the texture of the production -- "A few stolen moments is all that we share..." And then how she makes some notes explode, pop and light up the whole room -- "But no other man's gonna do..." This is definitely just a common part of musical phrasing, but she does it so effortlessly and so seemlessly! She knows exactly what she wants to do with her voice, down to the last detail! A vocal master, in my opinion, is someone who both knows what they want to do with their voice and knows how to acheive it. Whitney Houston is the pinnacle of that description. So true! Her death was very odd. Her sister, in a televised interview, explained she went to get food and left Whitney in the bath. When she returned she instantly knew something was wrong as the room was in complete darkness which made no sense to her as apparently Whitney was scared of the dark. Whitney's story is the greatest tragedy of all time. My heart breaks every time I hear her beautiful voice and think....what if the story had a different ending. 😢😢😢

This song was randomly in my head. No I’m not in a relationship, nor do I have any romantic feelings for anyone. Her spirit just lives on through music. I love you Whitney ❤️❤️.
I was thinking that even the way the lyrics are arranged. What we have now is very shoddy work. Good lyrics but the delivery we have these days is all wrong and the singing sounds forced or rushed.
My mum remembers being an 18-year-old in 1985 and hearing this song on the radio for the first time. Almost immediately, she went to the record shop and bought Whitney’s debut album. 35 years later, she still has it and I love it just as much as her.
I was driving in my car and this song came on...I pulled off to the side of the road so that I could hear when the dj announced the song/artist. As soon as I had the name Whitney Houston I went directly to the record shop and purchased it. Back in 1985 there were no female vocalist who sounded quite like Whitney. She really was a singing revelation at the time.
Dear Whitney Houston. You will forever, be an inspiration to all of us. It was your voice that enabled me to survive high school. Each day, at home, after coming back from school, stressed and finding it hard to cope, I would simply play your music and sing along to your songs. That always made me feel better every time. I still listen to you this day.
I was in the music industry in the 80s. Whitney did not write or read music. Her voice was truly God-given. I would assume that she learned some breath control from her early years in church choir, but she barely even needed a voice coach once her career took off. It's impossible to teach someone to sing like that! Her tone, control, phrasing, along with that undeniable 'it' factor, makes her the ultimate female vocalist of our lifetime. And the male is Frank Sinatra - and he's a bit past our lifetime! There are many who try, but no one can capture that magic. And that's what is it - pure magic!!
Are you sure she never had a vocal coach? Her technique was always near flawless. She's incredibly talented but is it even possible to have perfect support/resonance without training?
Simple because in that era it wasnt about the money, ofc artists back then were still getting paid its just that they truly crafted their music with the upmost regard and passion, wrote songs that had meaning, todays music sounds like it comes from a conveyor belt, yeah theyre coming out so much songs and albums but theres no quality in them, no soul no passion no form of creativity, all just to make a quick buck, doesnt mean that all artists are bad its just only the trash is being promoted, you have to look for all the great artists now…..
It’s all personal taste. I think Country Music is garbage, but my friends like it. I like the 80s and a lot of my friends like the 2010’s. Nothing wrong w it. I’m 21 rn and I learned a while ago that that’s the answer to most of these kinds of things so it’s better to just appreciate what you like rather than compare
It's not just singing. Whitney speaks with lyrics and puts meaning in every word. Her eyes are very warm, and have lots of love. She is a legend and miss her very much.
they had to teach her to sing with meaning on this song, as i recall clive davis said he didn't like he she was belting the s**t out of the song and had to change it. She's a good vocalist, but not much of an artist
She had surgery nose color of skin eyelashes , skin is retouched on clip Do you know that they can retouch clip now the nose the skin color the waist the legs etcetc
@@iquix Everyone was already enjoying the music. Someone annoying came here and spouted some silly and condescending platitude about "real music! no sex, no drugs, no harsh words, just pure talent" in a pointless attempt to boost this song that everyone already enjoys. But since they felt the need to do that, well then they can be reminded that this song IS about having an affair (i.e sex) with a married man.
Dena Williams I try telling people that a truly genuine singer makes music effortless, not forceful. There are certain singers today who are good but that's it and they have the platform. Entertainment is painfully different from vocal ability. Somehow people get them both mixed up and think they are the same.
Wow! Can't believe it three years since we lost the greatest female artist of all time. Rest in peace Whitney Houston. Also, I would like dedicate this song to the love of my life oruffryder 💕

A few stolen moments is all that we share You've got your family, and they need you there Though I've tried to resist, being last on your list But no other man's gonna do So I'm saving all my love for you It's not very easy, living all alone My friends try and tell me, find a man of my own But each time I try, I just break down and cry Cause I'd rather be home feeling blue So I'm saving all my love for you You used to tell me we'd run away together Love gives you the right to be free You said be patient, just wait a little longer But that's just an old fantasy I've got to get ready, just a few minutes more Gonna get that old feeling when you walk through that door For tonight is the night, for feeling alright We'll be making love the whole night through So I'm saving all my love Yes I'm saving all my love Yes I'm saving all my love for you No other woman, is gonna love you more Cause tonight is the night, that I'm feeling alright We'll be making love the whole night through So I'm saving all my love Yeah I'm saving all my love Yes I'm saving all my love for you For you, for you

Loving the fact that a big part of the video story is based in London, it adds to the songs story of being away and challenged. Interestingly all Whitneys hits were covers, this song was co written by Michael Masser and Carol Kings ex husband Gerald Goffin. These guys are incredible and to think of the numbers of hit songs they (And of course Carol King generated) is mind boggling. Great songwriting/composing with an incredible delivery and vocal performance is such a team work of art.

Mehapes7777 To who? Houston fanatics... she was never referred to as the voice, but by you online fanatics. There are many interviews on youtube Diane Sawyer, Wendy Williams 2002, 2004 - she was not called the voice by them. Even if Oprah .. gave her the name it was after she had lost hers. Regardless not on major publication referred to her as the voice when she passed. Not Life, not Time, not Rolling Stone or Billboard..hell not even People.
+jubbadupa actually the first time I heard someone refer to her as the voice was in 2004 when she performed at the World Music Awards and it wasn't by "fanatics" as you say. But by well respected music producers, other artists, and I believe Entertainment Tonight called her The Voice as well. Not trying to sound like a fanatic but Whitney Houston is the Voice. Her songs are the most auditioned songs on TV singing shows such as American Idol and The Voice. (No, I did not make this up) And about 3/4 of the women out here that aspire to be singers often try to mimic her vocal techniques. (That will never happen though)
Diana, Princess of Wales is alive! Yes, and it’s time the world begins to awaken to this Truth and so much more. Not only is our beloved Princess still with us, but so is John F. Kennedy, Jr., Carolyn Bessette Kennedy, and Lauren Bessette. There’s also a long list of celebrities and entrepreneurs including David Bowie, Elvis, Marilyn Monroe, Michael Jackson, Robin Williams, Steve Jobs, and Whitney Houston. So, how does one account for something as unbelievable as this? Well, each person named above, and those whose names haven’t been revealed yet, have their own story, and soon you’ll be learning about it. However, in the meantime, here’s the short version. Each one of these people, at one point, entered into a worldwide witness protection program. Wondering what these individuals needed protection from? It’s something the likes of which the average man or woman has never been confronted with. Although it may sound funny, each one of us will eventually have a role in the “Big Picture,” too. What is it? We need to respectfully listen to their stories and begin to understand the “as yet, unrecognized threat” that humanity has been living amongst. Bottom line is that we must give these brave people an opportunity to tell their stories and face head-on the Truths that we’ll be given in order to protect our families and ourselves now and forever more. Best way for us to complete our responsibility is to have unwavering faith in our Creator, God Eternal. Whitney is a legend!!! 2024 she stands with the best of all time!!!!
Wow!!very lovely,thats nice!👌
That’s awesome!!! I love her debut album so much
1985 she was 22. Born in 1963.

Her songs and her voice man. Its just brings me to some other place sometimes so i get what you sayin dude
Totally agree
Fezekile, Haibo ! this is heartfelt . Listen to it 10 years later and tell us how you feel
Happy 61st birthday to the Voice❤️❤️🎉🎉
I was in the music industry in the 80s. Whitney did not write or read music. Her voice was truly God-given. I would assume that she learned some breath control from her early years in church choir, but she barely even needed a voice coach once her career took off. It's impossible to teach someone to sing like that! Her tone, control, phrasing, along with that undeniable 'it' factor, makes her the ultimate female vocalist of our lifetime. And the male is Frank Sinatra - and he's a bit past our lifetime! There are many who try, but no one can capture that magic. And that's what is it - pure magic!!
She was and Will Forever be the greatest vocalist to ever.
Are you sure she never had a vocal coach? Her technique was always near flawless. She's incredibly talented but is it even possible to have perfect support/resonance without training?
Karen Berino smh 🤦🏽♂️
She use to co-write some of her songs!
Karen, I bet you had so much fun being in music in the '80's. I was so mesmerized by Whitney when she first came out.
im 18 and im still wondering why music from around this era just sounds so much better than todays stuff
Exactly
Same
Exactly I'm 17 btw
Her voice will ALWAYS be relevant. How can it not be! Wow! Fantastic!! My goodness!

She sure did... Jermaine Jackson was her love interest back then... and he indeed was in another relationship.
they had to teach her to sing with meaning on this song, as i recall clive davis said he didn't like he she was belting the s**t out of the song and had to change it. She's a good vocalist, but not much of an artist
Thank you Jermaine Jackson . You're the reason why Sweetney Houston had to release this melodious classical side chick anthem

Dena Williams I try telling people that a truly genuine singer makes music effortless, not forceful. There are certain singers today who are good but that's it and they have the platform. Entertainment is painfully different from vocal ability. Somehow people get them both mixed up and think they are the same.
Yeah. Nowadays, we have Despacito and some crappy music out there. But I hope 2020 will have the worst music of all.

A few stolen moments is all that we share
You've got your family, and they need you there
Though I've tried to resist, being last on your list
But no other man's gonna do
So I'm saving all my love for you
It's not very easy, living all alone
My friends try and tell me, find a man of my own
But each time I try, I just break down and cry
Cause I'd rather be home feeling blue
So I'm saving all my love for you
You used to tell me we'd run away together
Love gives you the right to be free
You said be patient, just wait a little longer
But that's just an old fantasy
I've got to get ready, just a few minutes more
Gonna get that old feeling when you walk through that door
For tonight is the night, for feeling alright
We'll be making love the whole night through
So I'm saving all my love
Yes I'm saving all my love
Yes I'm saving all my love for you
No other woman, is gonna love you more
Cause tonight is the night, that I'm feeling alright
We'll be making love the whole night through
So I'm saving all my love
Yeah I'm saving all my love
Yes I'm saving all my love for you
For you, for you
Thank You
thank you 😘

Loving the fact that a big part of the video story is based in London, it adds to the songs story of being away and challenged. Interestingly all Whitneys hits were covers, this song was co written by Michael Masser and Carol Kings ex husband Gerald Goffin. These guys are incredible and to think of the numbers of hit songs they (And of course Carol King generated) is mind boggling. Great songwriting/composing with an incredible delivery and vocal performance is such a team work of art.

+warren mcmorris No - but one them
+jubbadupa she is the voice
Mehapes7777 To who? Houston fanatics... she was never referred to as the voice, but by you online fanatics. There are many interviews on youtube Diane Sawyer, Wendy Williams 2002, 2004 - she was not called the voice by them. Even if Oprah .. gave her the name it was after she had lost hers. Regardless not on major publication referred to her as the voice when she passed. Not Life, not Time, not Rolling Stone or Billboard..hell not even People.
youre delusional
+jubbadupa actually the first time I heard someone refer to her as the voice was in 2004 when she performed at the World Music Awards and it wasn't by "fanatics" as you say. But by well respected music producers, other artists, and I believe Entertainment Tonight called her The Voice as well.
Not trying to sound like a fanatic but Whitney Houston is the Voice. Her songs are the most auditioned songs on TV singing shows such as American Idol and The Voice. (No, I did not make this up)
And about 3/4 of the women out here that aspire to be singers often try to mimic her vocal techniques. (That will never happen though)
I remember it like it was yesterday. The Summer of 85. Whitney topped the charts with this classic. R.I.P., Nippy!
