This is especially true when your set takes on major characterizations, surrounds your performers with history and perspective, and the titular character is a customized piano that weaves through plot and spectacle.
    Such is the collaboration between director LaTanya Richardson Jackson and scenic designer Beowulf Boritt on the revival of August Wilson's The Piano Lesson.     You guys should really think about creating some guided viewing questions for students viewing any of the american theatre wing videos! I love using these in my theatre classroom SO MUCH.

    Damn, I missed this revival. I wanted to see it. Glad the piano is going to the Smithsonian
