Oh Isaac Samuel's African history articles are so awesome and deep. it's funny I was literally reading this article two days ago, and the other one on the spread of the Hausa ethnic group and language was so facinating, I am so surprised about the things I'm learning in these articles. The ones on Aksum, Dahomey, Ashanti as well as the historical African Chronicles made my jaw drop. Goes to show we have beerly scratched the surface in some areas of African history alright.

Since the early days of this UA-cam channel you've always brought so much knowledge and enthusiasm to the comment section and most of the content that I show, you seem to already have some degree of knowledge about it. Have you ever considered content creation yourself?

@@admirekashiri9879 Yeah those people are absolutely right. Feel free to hit me up in Discord. I could help you get started. Also all you really need is a laptop and a mic. You don't need anything fancy, that's something you can work up to. Hell you don't even need a mic even, you could just use the voice recorder app on your phone if it comes down to it.

It that true in Niger, Arabic is still widely spoken like in Chad and North Mali(Azawad region), i also hear that Northern Nigeria, Hausa ethnic region and Bornu also can speak Arabic, and Arabic school still exist in North Nigeria, unlike in Mali, Senegal and Burkina Faso they replace French as lingua franca and interethnic language

One of those things that I'm kicking myself that I never thought of before.
Yes, of course the Africans made maps. because Africans are people doing STUFF and would generally want to have an idea of where they are, where they're going and where things are coming from.

Sir, your channel deserves much more attention. Pre colonial Africa is a treasure trove and say that as a total outsider. I have personally no known post-neolithic African roots. Here is a suggestion: the Nabta Astronomical site, the oldest observatory in the world. Also, do you have any info on which constellations the peoples of the continent used or if our modern Arab-European constellation system has African roots? I ask because the Arab-European constellation system reached well below the Equator, well before the modern age of exploration. African roots of these constellations would explain that oddity.

After watching Ertugrul part funded by Turkish government and fight scenes choreography by American experts. A good story could be told about Hausaland, Yorubaland and Igbo Land separately. Hausa is much more than dan fodio. It goes back 19 centuries from the settlers that arrived from middle East to the visits by travellers and nomads. They had bustling economy and people rested in Caravansaries. They had Emirs and Sultans. Not much different to Saudi Arabia. One of the first descendants was said to be son of a famous arab king who lost a war in Mecca during time of Muhammad. In latter centuries attempts to move southwards and take the South west by the 19th century. Obviously repelled but the build up to that was no small feat. A deep history there.
