I’ve been watching these episodes for close to 50 years, and whenever I hear Norton say “and don’t forget the 50 minute lecture “ I still laugh like crazy. Clean, simple comedy at its finest
I was born in 1964 and both of my parents born in the 30's and my Mother and Father loved the Honeymooners. We watched these episodes all the time and laughed our heads off. Rest in peace Jackie Gleason!!
This is one of my favorite Honeymooners episodes. Very clever story by the writers and, of course, great performances. It amazes me how tight the pace of this show was. Less than 30 minutes in length, but they packed a lot of punch in that short time frame and managed to get it just right every time.
Can you believe all these actors so professional and smooth while keeping everything harmoinous with no flaws ?!!. They're all far better than those who are on TV these day, for sure, in my opinion.
When I was a little kid in the early 50’s we lived in a similar apartment on E 95th street just a few blocks from the Adelphi Theater where these shows were filmed. I always admired the talented stars of the Honeymooners… Ralph, Norton, Alice and Trixie were and are like family to me.
The Adelphi Theatre was on the West side, on W54th Street. But, it’s still great that you identify strongly with the characters because you are a NY native. I think that the show was successful because millions of fans did (do) relate to the characters so much.
Amen to that! Now, today, u can get fired from a job for just turning and looking in someone's direction inadvertently at an unfortunate time for yourself because the looking in the direction of the person ITSELF is interpreted as something that is isn't! Or it's because they already don't like u anyway, so they find something trivial like that to twist into something that is isn't: a fireable offense. And I love how other people get on pages like this and make statements to bring down somebody's initial positive observation abt something they just watched online--if u don't like it to begin with and think life was so bad back during the time period of the program being shown, then why are u on here watching it, and looking at the stuff written Abt it in the first place??? Oh, because thats what ppl do now today in the "new modern America", that's "today's America": ppl seek out to tear down anything they find that is bringing someone else any kind of joy, pleasure, or happiness!!! And usually, the person doing the tearing down wasn't even around or alive during the time period they are putting down--so, again, if u think the time period being represented and the ppl in it were so bad, then CHANGE THE CHANNEL!!! But by GOD, this is modern-day America, and how DARE u watch this stuff because of MY feelings about it, who do u think you are, and what does that say about you? Don't u understand I am out to DESTROY AND TEAR DOWN any happiness and joy you are feeling from something because u MUST BE BROUGHT DOWN to pain, suffering, and misery like I am because my name is MODERN-DAY AMERICA!!!! and how DARE anyone act civilized with each other!!!!!
I thought the best bit was in the beginning when Ralph talks about the lady attempting to get on the bus with her dog and that the dog is worth 10 grand. Gleason's comeback, "If he's worth that much, let him take a cab!" 😅👍
Today, the ending would have been this: judge meets Ralph and fines him. In the 50s people had decency and admitted if they be been at fault, very rare in today’s world! Loved the ending !

I love theses shows and never get tired of them. I am constantly quoting from the honeymooners at work with my coworkers. I can watch any of these clips 500 times and still laugh. My wife just don’t get it.😂❤😅😊

That reporter named Mr. Martin is practically a regular on the show. He has been in many episodes, each time playing a different character, (dog pound clerk, Ralph's bowling partner, dad of kid Alice babysitted, etc.)
The Photographer was in several episodes as well, he was the man who instaled the phone a couple of times, once when Alice became a babby sitter and another time when Ralph found the counterfeit money on the bus.
I truly do you hope they showed a New Year's Eve and New Year's Day marathon of The Honeymooners. Yes I still enjoy watching them even though they've been around way before I was born or even thought of.
The part where Alice and Trixie were wearing identical dresses reminded me of the time my sister and I wore identical t-shirts by accident when we were celebrating Mother's Day. We mostly got a laugh about it and we took a selfie of ourselves and texted it to our cousins!
The best show that revealed their friendship was when Norton was in an accident and went to the hospital. Right after they were in argument.."from this day on Norton, we are deadly enemies. Nothing hard to believe about that. She's 97. I have an uncle who turns 95 next month and is healthy and active. My own father turns 92 in about 7 weeks.
