I love these videos where you test out equipment. I bought my ink bird that was reviewed in your last video, and plan to buy more for my tanks. Great video, keep up the great work!
Nice little gadget, but for me I'm not trying to breed special types of fish. I test my water in all my tanks weekly. My 180 I change water weekly because I can't keep plants in it. But my planted tanks get water changes on a as needed basis as they are heavily planted and keep good water quality. But I think this tool is really cool for those who really need all that info. Good video very informative.
Awesome videos as always, I've modelled my 6 foot south american chiclid tank off yours followed it all the way from when you first set it up, im now just setting up my next 4 foot marine tank this would be amazing on my new tank thanks for all your effort
in all these 3 years of keeping fish, ive never actually tested and checked my PH ever...and all my fish seem healthy (no deaths other than aggression, no sickness or disease and we fish like Loonie (16 month old Convict) who survived over 1 year with us and is still alive as well as others
Yeah it usually won’t fluctuate much for freshwater if you keep things consistent. More important for the exceptions mentioned in the video like breeding discus or saltwater
Hello. One tank that is difficult for me to maintain PH STABILITY is my DISCUS tank. Out of the tap water the PH measures 7.9-8.0 according to the API kit. Tank raised in high ph. In 3-4 days it drops to about 6.9. I studied up on somethings that would cause the huge PH drop….rocks, substrate…. As far as DISCUS water parameters go I know the PH STABILITY is important. Don’t curse me out but I do use alkaline buffer to bring the PH up. It’s a bit stressful. My DISCUS are tank raised. Ammonia is zero, nitrite is zero and my nitrates stay at about 5ppm- 10ppm. I have 2 OASE 350 bio masters canister filters. Any ideas? I would appreciate it. Thankyou, Marty B.
Hey! just starting into the hobby with a 125 south/central American tank, ph out of my tap is 7.3 give or take I’ve had my tank running a week now used Seachem prime let it run a couple days used fritzzyme 7 and added 4 silver dollars. Initial ph was around 7.4 last night it was 7.9 and now it’s 8.4. I’m using carabsea aragonite I think it’s crushed gravel is that my issue? Helpppppp lol!!! I really don’t wanna have to dose the tank and chase ph as we all know.. not good. I should have looked into the aragonite more but I was in information overload mode you know how it is any help would be greatly appreciated, again, awesome videos I have learned so much here!

Pretty cool. How accurate is it compared to using an actual API test kit?
It was right on for PH
Love the vid!!!
Glad to hear it!
hello. At 10:51 mark, isn't that tank overstocked? how you keep so many fish in a smaller tank?
It’s a public aquarium
@@CichlidBros thanks for the reply
This is a wonderful tool!! Especially for those who breed fish. Honestly I'd love to have one but I couldn't afford $150. For 10 fish tanks. 😮
Understandable!
Informatives Video! Sollte dieses Gerät funktionieren auf Dauer (!), hätte man die wichtigen Parameter vom Aquarium immer im Blick! 😉

does this gadget check for ammonia? I don't believe that was stated?
Nope it doesn’t
What do you guys use to adjust the GH and kh for American cichlids?
We don’t adjust typically, just keep things consistent. But the primary way is RODI
This doesn’t measure Nitrites or Nitrates correct?
Correct
It doesn’t monitor ammonia nitrates or nitrites. ???? 🤣. Thats a no for me. Ill stick to my test kit🤣
Nope. I don’t know of a monitor that does
My threadfin acara is swimming in circles and hiding inveteeen rock and wood, introduced him to a new tank today, should I be worried????
