Thank you for this I enjoyed listening and I have enjoyed your podcast too. I have anxiety/OCD and I believe there is often a place for medication in mental illness just like there is in many illnesses. However my periods of anxiety (although REALLY hard to live through) have always brought me closer to God. I didn't become a Christian until my mid twenties and my mind is full of corrupt and worldly things and habits. For me now it is really important to renew my mind through reading the Bible and prayer and attempting to take every (at least a few...) thoughts captive. The more I realise that God is in control and not me and am not tricked by my own sense of hyper-responsibility and catastrophizing the better I feel. In a way I thank God for my anxiety because my stubborn brain wouldn't pay much attention to him until I was brought low and had reached the end of my own abilities. I read last night about how God prunes the vines to make us produce more fruit, I really hope and believe that this is what is happening to me. Anyway thank you again and I look forward to listening to more of your work in the future!
