As a native of WW that grew up along side the wine industry, I'd say this podcast is spot on - great job! Especially agree with Seven Hills vinyards.

This is a great and very accurate winecast about the Walla Walla valley. I love driving out there to play golf and drink great wine. Downtown has a lot to offer in a small general location. I was going to try leonetti, but didn't really want to pay $10.00 an ounce (that was at a restaurant, as Leonetti is a private and exclusive club). I kept hearing over and over again that 2015 was one of the hottest years they had in the valley and to keep that bottle laid down a bit longer. Thank you for the information about Milton Freewater. I will look for those next. Not one winery mentioned it in Walla Walla. lol

Leonetti makes some remarkable wine. One of my favorite and bottles ever was a 2006 Merlot of theirs that was quite a stunner. Thanks for the comments. Cheers!

LOVE your videos! I've been watching a ton of them. You have an informative structure with lots of info but not overloaded with excess randomness. Under 10 min is perfect! I live in Seattle and visit the tasting rooms in Woodinville all the time as "research" for my upscale steakhouse I work at. If you're in the area again sometime I'd love to go tasting with you! Let me know! :)

Definitely a great winecast. The wife and I go out there 2 to 3 times a year just for the wine. I don't think any other region in the state of Washington has done a better job of marketing themselves than Walla Walla.
I was wondering if you have seen the new article from Forbes stating that Washington State is probably the most underrated wine region in the world?
I think it might be interesting to see a wine cast on some of the wine regions out of New York State and the North East as well.
Keep up the great work and I'm looking forward to the next one.

I have listened to most of your casts over the past 2 months. I've gone from completely helpless with French wine to confident with general information across the country. Thank you very much.
I hear that you are Washington based, could you do a cast about the Okanagan Valley sometime soon? I'm from B.C. and we get a lot of internal opinions and propaganda about the wines here but we rarely hear objective opinions from outside.
    Thank you!

Idea for a new cast: the supply chain of wine. So going in depth on how wine goes from the vine to the store, and the hands it changes through. You've covered this topic is small pieces throughout your casts but a dedicated cast i think would really help people understand the economics of wine. It would certainly help me haha. Love your videos and hope to see you back casting soon.

I'm doing a wine tour tomorrow in this AVA, and I'm studying up a bit because we normally do Willamette Valley stuff. The whole intrigue about The Rocks and labeling is just fantastically goofy. Then I look back at my itinerary and see our first stop is Balboa winery. Subtle hints about "rockiness", you say? Sure enough, they're using 95% Rocks AVA grapes, so they're definitely doing that. This is probably the most entertaining bit of wine trivia I've ever come across. It's perfect.

Thank you for all the excellent and detailed casts, found them helpful for WSET3. You are clearly knowledgeable and you present information precisely. You may be pronouncing pinot noir incorrectly btw; the r is not silent as in most French words ending without a vowel. Sorry ;) Keep the casts coming. I enjoy both the technical casts, and the sub-region topics. Cheers.

I’m enjoying your winecasts. I have a topic suggestion. Many years ago I asked the owner of a small winery in western Victoria Australia if he shipped to any US stores. He told me the minimum number of cases any importer required far exceeded his production. This got me thinking about the whole scale of wine production and wine distribution and how this relates to quality. My working assumption is that if a wine is on the shelves at your local national chain supermarket it’s likely produced by the tanker load and is probably not great. In turn this condemns many of the larger operators to the sidelines when looking for a good or great wine. For example, I see J Lohr (Rodney Strong, Lindemans etc.) at my local Walmart so I stay well away from that brand. Is this bad logic I wonder. I’ve tasted some appallingly bad wine at cellar doors so being a small producer is no guarantee of quality. But is mass production inextricably linked to mediocre quality? And how does this work across different regions of the world? A mass production negociant from Bordeaux versus Gallo. Could be very helpful for we wine buyers/drinkers to gain a rational perspective on this. I don’t have the knowledge nor the access to tackle such a project. Maybe you do.
