  • How come humans decided to adopt some animals as pets but treat others as threats? Questions like this are explored in the ‘Unstoppable Us’ book series, which has one key message for children: the world in which we live didn’t have to be the way it is. People made it what it is, and people can change it.

Filmed in London in autumn 2022.

What about the stories of lost babies or children adopted by wolves or other wild animals? Is this something quite common? Thanks to advances in decoding their language and social structure, will new symbiosis with other species emerge, like with the dog's ancestors at least 15'000 years ago?

Like I said in some comments before, provided it's possible, never choose between A and B and just take both. Wolves adopted us and we adopted them. Niether collective rejected the other. Neither collective left the other without nothing (or almost nothing). Both collectives (wolves and humans) cooperated all together while merging into a resulting bigger group of cooperating living beings. Thanks to your book we know where bigger groups of cooperating individuals lead. To progress. This happens bc when two entities cooperate they synergize instead of just stacking the profits they produce separatedly making them able to generate 5 out of two plus two instead of the usual 4. Being five superior to four both collectives progress from four to five. More importantly this progress leads us to happiness. The one those ancient wolves nowadays turned into adorable, loyal, cute, playful, protective dogs bring to our homes.

I would end this explanation by saying: it is reasonable to assume that this was the history of domestication, but we actually don't know exactly what happened because we have no records from that time. It's possible, for example, that domestication had a cruel beginning with humans adopting the pups of wolves killed by humans. In the Brazilian Amazon it is possible to observe indigenous tribes who keep domesticated a wide variety of birds and small animals that were taken from their parents as babies.

Talk to hunters that travel in the wilderness where wolves dwell. They follow you and eat the leftovers, getting closer and friendlier. The more human friendly ones are better fed and breed more , then evolution kicks in. simple.

I am very glad you are talking about this. Sometimes the ideas become dry until we talk about animals- they give me much joy.
Also, cats also adopt us and you know and everyone knows who have cats that they choose us!
Dogs- I have one and she feels like my adopted daughter. ok thats too personal and not serious but I am very serious-Im very happy
Also, in the old ancient text 1000s upon 1000s of year ago they understood that the combined of a species are much more intelligent- or dynamic and inventive than an individual human- that is the collective has much more wisdom than at least an individual such as myself. Humbling!
One may ask how are they more wise? Consider what happens when we create AI and then we find out we can create things nonmaterial into the material. We become like a god or evolve so high in the span of millennia that what we create we imbue in it our own moral wisdom. The creation of which we consider our own species- do each civilization has all species that each is the result of in the present very very high evolved beings. And many beings evolved at the beginning of the cycle of time that we can only concieve if time is no longer time but a whirling cycle or spin or a spiritual realm that resembles the beginning of what we call heat but in plasma form. This is in the Vedas but also in some ways the first 3 sentences in Genesis- -although one cant read it like a page but read it like one listens to an older person. You hear an older person and in one sentence the wisdom uttered by a normal person can take a book. The wise individual does that in one phrase because it is put in a way that the words are living- they are holographic

No, some humans are honest enough to know they just don't know or are not convinced to a high degree of probability, though may have fun with evidence based speculation. Whilst others are absolutely convinced by the weakest of evidence; to the point of having their entire life completely dictated to by bronze age death cults.
