Does Florida get in with a 7-4 record? If the losses are to (GA,Texas, ole miss, and fsu)? All 4 teams you have in the playoffs. If all 4 losses are 1 score games?
Don’t fall into his trap…that comments just to get a lot of viewers…
How can you pick the conference winners without knowing the tiebreakers? Also why is nobody talking about the conference tie breakers???
I definitely don't want to see multiple games teams 3 plus is terrible
Michigan not making the playoffs is even more comical.😂💯
That SEC prediction is a 9.5 on the boldness scale.

Georgia gets their butt blown out before they even make it. Texas - Alabama or Texas - Missouri in the playoff game
Texas winning the SEC first season in isn't just a bold prediction...it's a FEVERED DREAM!!!
Crappy DBs, lost the best 2 DTs and Dline coach in the country, but should have a great Oline and be able to score. They just won't be able to stop teams from scoring once the game plan is unlocked. However, they have one of the easiest schedules in the SEC, but will probably be beaten twice by UGA. That will be uuuuuggggglllleeeee. This isn't the B12 anymore. No more taking a week off and still winning.
@@PHUnkel66 you have no clue what you're talking about. The DBs will be much improved. If you knew anything about the team you'd know that. Obsessed texas hate is a disease. Seek help....oh and poor aggies.
@@dougrose7334 Maybe crappy was too strong. You have three corners and to think they won't get hurt is craziness. You do have a good safety room. Linebacker probably not as good as last year. It doesn't matter because teams are going to run on you anyway.
I have not clue what I am talking about but you didn't dispute the d-line. So do I really have no idea what I am talking about?
You weren't snake bit were you ? You can really get sick !
Dude needs to lay off the crack.
The glazing of Texas needs to stop 🤣
Yeah, last year was the first year where Texas didn't disappoint, you can't trust them to have a great season. Every year they are picked to win 10 games but win only like 8 at most
Why. They are legit good and capable of this
@@PrimeTimeVol87 Yes, but they are known for blowing their seasons. I hope they do good, but they could blow it
Texas is literally the third best if not the second bed team
Same with Oklahoma state. They have a terrible QB.

Prod Jesse: we need the clicks from Austin, put UT in the title that’ll do it

As an Alabama fan. Georgia hasn’t lost enough to be playing the same game as everyone else yet lol
assuming they won’t even make the sec chip game is laughable
@@eliblackburnthey are not going 10 wins with that schedule
I disagree. For one thing, Jawjuh is suspect on the DL. The loss of Van Pran and Mims makes them suspect on the OL. What proven skill position players do they have that can step up for Bowers, McConkey, and the RBs they lost? Kirbys Jawjuh is not Sabans Alabama 2.0 no matter how much Jawjuh fans and the media want them to be. Attrition will happen. It happened to Clempson, FSU, Miami, Florida, USC and basically every other program in history that wasn't Alabama coached by Saban. Even Bear had to reinvent how he did things after some bad years in tue late 60s. It will happen to Jawjuh too
@@eliblackburnwhat’s laughable about it? Y’all gotta snap to reality and stop living in the past. They aren’t gonna be the same team
@@ORTHADOZby that logic neither is Texas, especially since they’ve never played an SEC caliber schedule

He’s WAY overestimating Georgias schedule.
Bama, Texas and Ole Miss. Those are the only three games that Georgia could possibly lose and they’ll be favorited in all 3.
@@dragonsurge1 I agree, this is pretty much based on UGA losing all 3 of those games. If they even go 1-2 in that 3 game stretch, they will still be top 6 with a 10-2 record and clinch a home game in the playoff. I really can't see Texas going 11-1, Sark always fumbles a game they should win. When UGA fumbles, they still come in clutch and find a way, i.e. Mizzou and Auburn last year.
Picking TEX over UGA is a 9.75 on the boldness scale.

Assuming Georgia doesn’t make the SEC championship, they finished 10-2 and will be ranked #7.
Putting Miami at #7 is a joke. If they lost the ACC champion, they’re going to finish at #10, #11 or just get left out.

@@ijustwanttonap literally they all act like everyone plays Alabama, Georgia and LSU and whatever other top SEC team every season
The playoff is gonna be amazing. I dont care who the 12 are, me and everyone else here will be watching.
Love the show, but this may end up being a Desmond Howard level playoff pick here. But you asked why so here goes. I mentioned in the SEC championship pick video that we need to see more from Texas’ secondary before we can predict their season. Yes they’ll be better than the 113tg ranked defense against the pass, but how much better. I like Ole Miss, but can they stay healthy, will their depth play well, and can they beat Georgia (which Lane led offenses have usually been halted by Saban/Smart defenses). What is your projection on Georgia and Alabama? If Georgia doesn’t play in the conference title game and doesn’t get into the make the final four, something went way left. I just can’t foresee a world where Georgia isn’t in that final four. They’re too talented on both sides of the ball
Why are you discounting Utah now?
Texas beating Bama was the worst thing to happen in CFB. All these journalists glazing a team with no pass defense all because they beat an undeveloped Jalen Milroe in week 2. Any real offense that stays aggressive will score 40+ on Texas
Right?! Texas lost too much to just pick up where they left off from last year. You don’t lose 2 generationally talented DLs and your 2 best WRs and still be the same team. Bond is not Worthy or Mitchell. Plus, their secondary is going to be a major liability. Texas will have to score 50 a game to beat everyone they play. Cause they may not be able to stop anyone.
I am not sure Texas beating Alabama is worse than people using the term "glazing."
I know they had a good season last year. But you’re putting way too much faith in Texas to win the SEC.
the 5 seed theory is a compelling one
The amount of people thinking Georgia is untouchable is kind of wild. South Carolina was a 10 point game, Auburn was a 7 point game, and Missouri was a 9 point game. Not to mention losing to a pretty shaky Alabama team in the championship game. They were down 14-3 at halftime against South Carolina, they aren't untouchable by any means. This isn't to say they aren't a great team either.
Texas won’t even get to Atlanta. Might be an at large in the playoffs if they get to 10 wins
Look at Texas schedule though it’s definitely possible that they make it to Atlanta in December! The toughest SEC team on their schedule is Georgia in Austin
Notre Dame has a garbage schedule. It is possible that TAMU is the toughest game on the schedule. Miami can't get out of their own way. FSU might be good but it is a home game. If they drop 2 games they don't even make it in the playoff. I am not sure they deserve to go if they drop one game but I know about how everyone loves them some Notre Dame.
You probably pick OSU every year. Leaving UGA out is hilarious. I am sure Kirby took a snapshot of this and posted it in the locker room. UGA might not win the SECC but for them to not make the FF is crazy. They are way too talented.
Texas will be welcomed to the SEC! LSU, and Georgia will play for an SEC championship and the SEC will get a 3rd team in, probably Alabama or Mizzou with their schedule.
Seriously need to watch Mizzou as stupid as I sound. They have a cupcake schedule as far as the SEC goes.
Texas ain't winning the SEC bro
December games at Oregon and Notre Dame? Yes please.
Georgia being behind Texas AND Ole Miss is insane. That has to be something you said to stir the pot and get more engagement because otherwise, that is an insane take. 😂 Go Dawgs!
Ole Miss is not going to be as good as everyone thinks. Why? Ok, I’ll tell you. Pete Golding.
Texas IS NOT winning the SEC in its first season. In fact, even though I picked them to make the SECCG and lose to UGA I don’t see that scenario as the most likely that’s just what I think is gonna end up happening. And if Texas makes it there they CERTAINLY won’t be playing a team that has NEVER made an SECCG in 30 years of the game being played
I think the question surrounding how to rank a 1 loss ND vs a conference runner-up will depend on the conference runner-ups record going into the conference championship game. If the runner up is 11-1 going in, I think that they are ranked ahead of ND coming out. If they are 10-2 or worse going in, I think, depending on the conference/schedule of the runner up, they are ranked below ND
My prediction:
1. Ohio State
2. Georgia
3. Miami
4. Utah
5. Ole Miss
6. Oregon
7. Texas
8. Penn State
9. Bama
10. Notre Dame
11. Missouri
12. Liberty
Michigan football winning back to back national championships 🏆🏆
As a Georgia fan the thing that sticks out most to me in this prediction is that Ole Miss and Texas will play twice in games that determine the playoff 😂 no way Jose
All y'all keep making fun when I tell ya, Josh hates UGA. Case and point right here, along with his SEC pick. He calls UGA the best program in America, then, whenever he can - he picks against them. EVERY TIME!!!!! He acknowledges what can't be denied. Then, whenever he can - and not be COMPLETELY unreasonable - he picks against them. He might not (or might) pick Clemson in week one, but he will pick Bama, Texas, and Ole Miss GUARANTEED. Heck, if Tennessee looks capable, he will probably pick them too.
Love Pete but lost me at Texas
So the team that beat Alabama by 10, went to the CFP, got a better recruiting class this off-season, doesn't have a chance of winning in the SEC? 🤔

@@dougrose7334 when Texas is more consistently good and lives up to their hype, I will be more consistently impressed… until then just try to win more games…. Who did they play and barely beat in their conference championship last year??? I forget bc I was watching Bama beat then No. 1 undefeated in two seasons UGA in their own backyard…. Texas is a soft third in the SEC behind UGA and Bama… let’s see them against an LSU or Ol Miss at their home stadiums and win there too before I get too excited and that Bama in week two was the most pitiful Bama performance in Sabans decade plus at Bama so that doesn’t mean much to me.
Josh as a Georgia fan these are fighting words.
Best edit we can make: give the sec and the big 10 3 playoff spots each, no more or less. Get rid of the conference championship. Put those 3 teams on one wing of the bracket, top team gets a bye, 2 and 3 play for the right to play the top conference seed for the de facto conference championship. That saves the meaning of every part of the season, and guarantees no conference rematches in the final 4.
I predict Texas and Alabama beating Georgia and ending up in the SEC Championship together. Both teams still make the playoff, one of them wins it all
Josh, Thank you for the good karma you give Utah. Every time you pick against Utah, they win. You'll end up fitting the Utes into the playoff scenario later on in the season. Thanks!!!
Keep on dreamin' skippy- picking Bama as 4th in the SEC- GA @2 with their 1-8 record vs. BAMA RTR!
I like watching your podcast but your predictions are slight;y off. UGA has a tough schedule like games at Alabama, Texas and Ole Miss but they have a top defense and a top offense. Ole Miss may make the playoffs but not the semifinals. My prediction for the semifinals will be Oregon, UGA, FSU & possibly MIchigan. Just like it took some time for Kirby to recruit the right players for his team, Dan Lanning has the same thing going. If I could evaluate every team after 4-5 games, I would feel a little more certain about FSU & Michigan.
Texas and Ole Miss? 🤣🤣🤣 Plus, Alabama and Georgia with two of the most talented rosters in the country at 9 and 10 is crazy talk!
Top 4 seeds: 1 Georgia, 2 Oregon, 3 Kansas St, 4 Clemson
5-12: 12 Boise St at 5 Michigan, 11 Ole Miss at 6 Ohio St, 10 Penn St at 7 Utah, 9 Alabama at 8 Florida St
QF's: 9 Alabama vs 1 Georgia, 7 Utah vs 2 Oregon, 11 Ole Miss at 3 Kansas St (and Ryan Day gets fired after the loss to Ole Miss), 5 Michigan at 4 Clemson
SF's: 5 Michigan vs 1 Georgia, 7 Utah vs 3 Kansas St
Final: 1 Georgia def. 3 Kansas St 42-24
Going off the premise they won't drop a conference title game loser too far is laughable to UGA fans. There is no premise that says that based off how the CFP kabal has made decisions thus far. May be the first thing you've ever said that I disagree with.
P.s. Respectfully, of course
Sick of everyone glazing texas
I think Josh is one of the smartest guys in cfb. But Texas - Ole Miss sec champ game 😂
I don't think you're giving the 4 seed enough credit. The 5 seed will probably be favored slightly, but beating a rested Utah, Oklahoma State or Florida State isn't going to be a cakewalk.
If that is the CFP final count me out for me personally.
C’mon Josh, Texas always gives two games away of early season predictions. They have to prove they are better than Georgia in at least one season in the SEC before you can put them in the SEC championship game.
Pate picking Texas hurts my soul
This is the first pate state segment where I thought to myself "these are horrible takes" but everyone is entitled to their own opinion so here is my take on the 12 team field: 1. Georgia (12-1 SEC champ) 2. Ohio state (12-1 B1G champ) 3. Florida State (11-2 acc champ) 4. Utah (11-2 Big12 champ) 5. Texas (11-2 SEC 2nd place) 6. Oregon (11-2 B1G 2nd place) 7. Michigan (10-2 ) 8. Ole Miss (10-2) 9. Miami (11-2 ACC 2nd place) 10. Penn State (10-2) 11. Alabama (9-3) 12. Liberty (13-0 CUSA Champ) Final 8: 1. Georgia vs 9. Miami, 2. Ohio State vs 7. Michigan (Game of the year potential), 3. Florida State vs 6. Oregon, 4. Utah vs 5. Texas, Final 4: 1. Georgia vs 5. Texas, 6. Oregon vs 7. Michigan, National Championship: 1. Georgia vs 6. Oregon, Winner: Georgia
To explain some of the runs of lower seeds I think Oregon wins a close one against bama where the home field advantage plays a big role and I think they are just significantly better than florida state. Against michigan its close, but they pick up ther second win over the wolverines that season. To explain Michigan, they are simply a better team than Penn State and they play them at the big house so they will win by 2+ scores and They upset Ohio State in the rose bowl in an all time classic to avenge their 2 td loss in columbus earlier in the season as Alex Orji is hitting his stride as a quarterback similar to how milroe did late in the season for bama last year
If Josh Pate was right on his picks, Michigan would go 6-5 every year
If Texas wins the SEC, then I’m a pro athlete.
Whatever Josh is smoking I need some. Ole Miss will not make it due to Defense as usual. Ohio States offensive line is a huge question and I do not think they make the Championship game. I think UGA, Oregon, Texas and Ohio State are the final 4. UGA vs Oregon in the championship with UGA on top.
Good lord pate
ALL PLAYOFFS GAMES SHOULD BE PLAYED IN NEUTRAL SITE STADIUMS WITH DOMES.
Only way to give a fair playing field that way everything is in the hands of the Teams.
If “Home Field” advantages just had to happen then the game should still be played at a Neutral Site with a Dome, but it’s played in the Region of the Higher Seed.
Finally a real take and an analyst not picking the hype train known as Oregon to win it all.
Ohio state winning against Oregon more than once is a bold prediction. Oregon is going into this season better than Ohio State in all areas except defense and may even be equal to them in defense, more to see on that. One loss possible, 2-3 losses to Ohio State? Nah….
Oregon is an early favorite to win in the regular season. On a neutral field, well that's a different story.
So you are saying UGA sucks this year and you are saying that Kiffin and Sark are so much better coaches than Kirby, what are you smoking. You just gave UGA big time bulletin board material so that when Dec comes I will be curious to see what you are going to have to say about this ludicrious prediction. So because Texas went 12-2 for the first time since 2009 that they are the second best team in the country and the number one team in the SEC. Unbelievable. Plus your saying the second best team in the SEC is Ole Miss who for the first time in 19 years or ever won 11 games in a year. And now all of a sudden because UGA was 42-2 in the last 3 years they are not even going to make it out of the 1st round of the playoffs against Notre Dame. So they might as well not even show up to play Ole Miss and Texas and Alabama because they are that bad of a football team. This is beyond comprehension. I know you will say that is not what I said but if you think about it that is exactly the underlying meaning to what you are saying that Texas and Ole Miss are 1000 times better than UGA . Well it's a shame UGA can't recruit and their coaches are half ass and our players are all 1 star or less and our defense sucks our QB is suited for Div 3 football and not Div 1. Plus Notre Dame is going the crush UGA in the playoffs. UGA might as well close down their football progam.
Josh thinks Cristobal can coach his way INTO the playoffs? It’s a better bet that he will find a way to coach himself OUT of the conference championship game.
Y'all gotta stop with the Texas slobbering
As a Buckeye fan, this millennium, Ohio State never wins a Natty when they're "expected" to.. the 2 they won were years nobody expected it.. hopefully they can reverse that this season..

I don’t see Georgia losing to at both Alabama and Texas probably 1 or the other and I do not see ole miss beating them in Oxford in the later part of the season and that’s really the only threat to UGA schedule so I’d have them making SEC championship and either 2 or 5 seed
I love the blatant disrespect of the current national champions. Michigan is going to make you eat your words
Agreed 💯 👍🏾, as always he still hurting from the Alabama loss 😂
You just gave Kirby Smart a good locker room speech. LOL
I’m a Texas fan but I’ve got concerns with the current roster construction. When you have 11 drafted you’re gonna have holes period. Fortunately the season sets up to where you have skill check games. Second game you get Michigan who will probably run the ball most the game can the DL hold up? Then you’ll get a couple G5 schools who if we shut down Michigan’s run should be able to see them throw on the secondary a lot so we see what shape the defense will be in before we start SEC play. I have a strong feeling we will be leaning heavily on the offense while the defense comes along. If we fail hard during the two week stretch of OU/UGA then everything falls a part. Regardless, I’m excited for the season.

When Texas finds themselves in a dog fight late 4th qtr week 2 with a down Michigan team, we can gather again and re-evaluate the idea of them beating UGA, OU, surving the gauntlet of teams capable of upsets that make up the bulk of the SEC schedule and then capping it off with a trip into Kyle Field which will likely be more hostile than the beaches of Normandy. Welp, Texas just got to the SEC and already Josh has lost all credibility. He has now joined all other sports talk and has to pretend Texas is a top team.
The entire 12 team playoff is designed to always include ND regardless of their record. ESPN insisted on that in the contact. It isn't about finding a national champion, it is about putting money in ESPN's bank account.
UGA at 9 is a joke

OSU beating Oregon twice on a neutral field is a hot take. Especially if this scenario means Oregon beat them in the regular season.
Auto bids are so dumb. 4 of the best teams will be in SEC or Big 10 why should other conferences get rewarded for playing cupcakes all season😂 makes no sense
So my question would be, if this plays out exactly like you said (even though i disagree), do you think there is any chance the committee deliberately swaps Oregon and Ole Miss so they fall on the other sides of the brackets? So the final four would be Ohio St. vs Ole Miss and Oregon vs. Texas
Texas against ole Miss in the sec championship is just insane
This is gonna be even more controversial than the 4 team was. How can you punish a team for losing an sec or big10 championship game?
Texas will have 3 or 4 loses😂
Cant wait for Josh to pick against Michigan every game this season
A 10-point win against Alabama, even if you lose to Oklahoma and barely squeak by Kansas State and Houston in the same season, is enough to make you the consensus #2 team in the country the following year. Who would have thought that Alabama and Nick Saban had that much power?
Josh, you failed to predict the OSU vs Oregon regular season winner. That game potentially causes Oregon to drop to 7th or 8th after losing the B1G Championship.
I’d like to know you’re picking Texas to win the conference that’s a joke but anyway what would you pick OU Texas today? and would you pick Oklahoma if they had Texas schedule and vice versa?
This feels like something out of the dynasty sim on CFB 25
Dyansty sim results are very inaccurate. Like Clemson beating UGA just to lose to their nobody week 2 opponent
@@RadicallyOptimistic real luckily in my franchise UGA won that game
Pate just trying to stir up engagement, but we’ve clipped this for when the midseason retraction comes
Texas and Ohio state riding is actually crazy
