I raced against Kevin when I was 13 and 14 years old, also raced against Graham Hood. They were both fast, but Kevin was an unbeatable prodigy. He used to lap people in the 1500 all the time. I was there when he ran 3:59 in the 1500 and I want to say he was 13. I was 14 and none of us could believe it. All the next fastest guys in the province were in the 4:15-4:20 range.
Great video! Kevin Sullivan was extremely talented. 800m in 1:53.03 and 1500m in 3:54.1 at only age 14! Those times stood as age records for 27 years. I've tried to find Sullivan's teenage progression in the 1500m. This what I've found: 1988: 3:54.1 1989: 3:54.31 1990: 3:51.82 1991: 3:46.52 (this race) 1992: 3:39.11 1993: 3:39.43 1994: 3:36.78 (If some of it is wrong, please correct me)
