Just installed mine today, really quick and easy process! Make sure the open end of the air sensor faces the filter when you re-install it! That’s really the only part that takes thinking.
This video is very detailed and user friendly! That’s the exact Silverado I have and I plan on changing mines over. I wanted to hear how it would sound but I will when I do it. Thank you!
Great video instruction. I just installed one on my 2015 Sierra, took about 75 minutes, watched the video a couple of times first and read the instructions, they matched up nicely. Only 1-2 surprises, nothing serious. Works great, sounds great.
Great video even years later. I just installed a K&N intake on my 5.3. Unfortunately I broke the plastic pvc hose barbed NPT. which is a dumb design IMO. I was going to complain to K&N but doubt they would care. So I found brass fittings online and ordered them.
could we get a video of that truck with the K&N CAI and the Borla Atak both installed? i know there’s this video and the other one with just the exhaust but a video with a start-up and accelerations would be awesome. Would definitely be a must watch
What happens if I don’t unhook my battery? I installed it but can’t start it because my kids are asleep. Looks like the check engine light is on now. Will that go away after a certain amount of miles?
GREAT video. What if (only) replace the factory air filter with a K&N filter? How much more improvement would I get with what you did vs. only replacing the filter itself? I recent bought a 2015 Yukon Denali with the 6.2L engine. Thanks.
@@CJBroncoF150 Thanks for the reply however I've read a few articles now that state the heat from the engine especially at idle will give you slow starts with the setup you show.
I installed the same kit on a 17 sierra with the 5.3L with AFM and it stalls on a cold start, takes a few attempts to get it going bit once its running it throws a MAF code, I have reset the computer and cleared the code, and same thing happens a few minutes later. I have followed the install instructions to the T and have done CAI installs many times before and this is the first time I have run into this issue... any ideas on what I should do?
Those plastic fittings for the PVC hoses are garbage, thats why they don't show the actual installation of those fittings . I expected a little better quality for the money I dished out for this intake.

did you disconnect the battery during installation? I've read it's not entirely necessary and I dont want to lose all the radio presets, etc.
@@mikenice1204 I didn’t, everything worked out fine.
Great video, thank you for making it. I just installed K&N intake on my 2018 Silverado and this video helped make the job easy. Thanks again

Thanks for the step by step video! Your video is more detailed than K&N’s so called “detailed” video

What were the surprises?
?????

Do you have a link to that?
Did the same thing

Naughty boy. Using his chromies with his impact.
You can pull the whole box in one shot!

Just replacing the filter the help out a tiny amount, but you still have the restrictive intake tube that should be upgraded as well.

Keith, could you share any of those articles? I have been using CAI's for the last 10+ years and I have never heard anything that you just referenced.
GM has always had the most restrictive intake system. You should see some nice gains.
Mine didn’t come with the MAF sensor adapter. Where can I get one from?
Will it make it through a code for a bad air flow sensor
Are you positive its legal in California and if so, what model/part number is it?
Will it fit a 2017 Silverado 5.3 liter? Great video
Since the intake is not entirely enclosed, will it suck in hot air? If so is there anyway i can modify it to seal it completely away from the motor?
just installed one last week. anyone know why it would have a rough idle and shut off? it didn't do that with the stock intake.
This might be a dumb question but I want to do this to my truck but I’m worried about water getting into the intake?

what was the issue? I had a similar issue on an old single cab and I believe the coupling was just loose somewhere
Mine gave a check engine light
Is this the same k&n part number and process for a 2019 Yukon slt?
Those plastic fittings for the PVC hoses are garbage, thats why they don't show the actual installation of those fittings . I expected a little better quality for the money I dished out for this intake.
What are you talking about
Great video
My hose barbs would not screw in all the way. Is this normal?
Just installed my k&n cai, the check engine light came on, any advice what to check
Go back and make sure everything is connected properly and there are no air leaks. Also pull the code for the light and see what it is.
I got P0171
What would happen if I forget to install the pcv hose
Can a put this on a 2018 1500 chevy. Would it mess with. My. Warranty?
It will fit but call your dealership to ask about the warranty.
My 5.3 threw a code after installing it.
What did you do to solve it
This is the 5.3 L I think not the 6.2 - the air filter is on the drivers side in the 6.2 engine compartment, still good video however.
Shawn Bair incorrect sir.
Have a 6.2 Silverado myself
I tried to buy it. But it's not. Legal in California
Waste of money gain 2 hp
those pcv hoses slip on the engine so easily im suprised that they dont let air threw
