Pranam. Hare krishna! Please find the answers to your questions from Srila Prabhupada's commentaries on Bhagavad-Gita, Srimad-Bhagavatam and Caitanya Caritamrta:
Q1. Under whose influence do we forget that we are servant of Krishna?
Ans. "Krsna bhuliya jiva bhoga-vancha kare -- pasete maya tare japatiya dhare” (CC Adi Lila 1.14).. it means as soon as the living entity wants to enjoy life without Krsna, without God, immediately he becomes under the clutches of maya. Under the clutches of maya he forgets that he is the eternal servant of Krsna.
Q2 By understanding what we will understand that we are servants of Krishna?
Ans. Krishna says in BG 15.7 (mamaivamso jiva-loke jiva-bhutah sanatanah manah-sasthanindriyani prakrti-sthani karsati). “The living entities in this conditioned world are My eternal, fragmental parts. Due to conditioned life, they are struggling very hard with the six senses, which include the mind.”
The conditioned soul is covered by the material body, with the mind and the senses, and when he is liberated this material covering perishes, but his spiritual body manifests in its individual capacity. When a living entity gives up this material embodiment and enters into the spiritual world, he revives his spiritual body, and in his spiritual body he can see the Supreme Personality of Godhead face to face.
Q3. Why do residents of heaven do not understand the spiritual world?
Ans. The residents of heaven are absorbed in sense gratification (because of abundant opulences) and hence have no time for the process of self-realization.
It is stated in Bhagavad-gītā that one may elevate himself to the higher planetary systems, even up to Brahmaloka, by dint of pious activities, but when the effects of such pious activities are finished, one again comes back to this earth to begin a new life of activities.
Q4. By doing what one will remember Krishna at the time of death?
Ans. ante nārāyaṇa-smṛtiḥ. The highest perfection of human life is to remember the Personality of Godhead at the end of life.
One’s thoughts during the course of one’s life accumulate to influence one’s thoughts at the moment of death, so this life creates one’s next life. If in one’s present life one lives in the mode of goodness and always thinks of Kṛṣṇa, it is possible for one to remember Kṛṣṇa at the end of one’s life. If one is transcendentally absorbed in Kṛṣṇa’s service, then his next body will be transcendental (spiritual), not material. Therefore the chanting of Hare Kṛṣṇa, Hare Kṛṣṇa, Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa, Hare Hare/ Hare Rāma, Hare Rāma, Rāma Rāma, Hare Hare is the best process for successfully changing one’s state of being at the end of one’s life.
One example often given is that of the caterpillar that thinks of becoming a butterfly and so is transformed into a butterfly in the same life. Similarly, if we constantly think of Kṛṣṇa, it is certain that at the time of death one will be transferred to the transcendental nature of Kṛṣṇa.
Q5. Why does devotee of Lord do not worship demigods?
In the Bhagavad-gītā, worship of different demigods or rendering service to them is not approved. Lord Kṛṣṇa even discouraged His father Nanda Mahārāja from worshiping the demigod Indra.
kāmais tais tair hṛta-jñānāḥ
prapadyante ’nya-devatāḥ
taṁ taṁ niyamam āsthāya
prakṛtyā niyatāḥ svayā
"Those whose minds are distorted by material desires surrender unto demigods and follow the particular rules and regulations of worship according to their own natures." (Bg. 7.20)
A pure devotee knows that the Supreme Lord Krishna is the master of all. In the Caitanya-caritamrta it is said that only the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Krishna, is master and all others are servants. Therefore, a pure devotee never goes to demigods for satisfaction of his material needs. He depends on the Supreme Lord and is satisfied with whatever He gives.
Q6. Which is the way in which Chaitanya Mahaprabhu practiced devotion?
Ans. Lord Caitanya propagated: sankirtana, the congregational chanting of the name of God, most suitable for Kaliyuga. The Lord descends in each yuga-as the yuga-avatara-in order to establish the appropriate form of religion. According to the Srimad-Bhagavatam, Lord Caitanya is the yuga-avatara for this age of Kali. No matter how quarrelsome, lazy, misguided, unlucky, and disturbed we may be, we can easily chant Hare Krishna with perceptible spiritual results. We will at once have a taste of transcendental bliss and feel lust, greed, and anger diminish. The immeasurable potency of the divine name will rid even the most polluted mind of the putrefaction of material existence.
Q7.Who things " Ishworo aham aham bhoge, Sidoham Balwan Sukhi?
Ans. The demoniac person thinks:
I am the lord of everything. I am the enjoyer. I am perfect, powerful and happy.
Thus perplexed by various anxieties and bound by a network of illusions, he becomes too strongly attached to sense enjoyment and falls down into hell.
How to understand if a person is demoniac? Pride, arrogance, conceit, anger, harshness and ignorance - these qualities belong to those of demoniac nature. (BG 16.4)
Q8. What is the most important instruction given by Chaitanya Mahaprabhu that we should remember?
Ans. tṛṇād api su-nīcena taror iva sahiṣṇunā amāninā māna-dena kīrtanīyaḥ sadā hariḥ ( CC Antya 20.21)
‘One who thinks himself lower than the grass, who is more tolerant than a tree, and who does not expect personal honor but is always prepared to give all respect to others can very easily always chant the holy name of the Lord.’
Q9. What is that a devotee desires as per the teachings of Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu?
Ans. na dhanaṁ na janaṁ na sundarīṁ kavitāṁ vā jagad-īśa kāmaye
mama janmani janmanīśvare bhavatād bhaktir ahaitukī tvayi (CC Antya 20.29)
‘O Lord of the universe, I do not desire material wealth, materialistic followers, a beautiful wife or fruitive activities described in flowery language. All I want, life after life, is unmotivated devotional service to You.’
