My first tube distortion... I used to boost it with a boss sd1 and kinda liked it when I was 18; if I remember correctly it tended to sound too compressed and a bit fake.
Interesting pedal for sure! It sounds pretty good, but not good enough to make up for how massive that thing is. Thanks for another cool pedal demo! Also this is unrelated, but have you ever tried the Promethium Distortion? I just put together a DIY ts808 last night with success and I'm thinking about trying something a little more challenging now. I've heard good things as far as being a straight up hm-2 clone. I looked on your channel, but I didn't see anything about this pedal.
Love the Peavey guitar, been searching for an original! I'd definitely find a use for thst pedal, it alright, I have a thing for various distortion pedals and overdrives.
nice. wow i have never seen a peavey vandenburg with a humbucker in the neck and without an ebony fret board and without the oblong and notched shaped body and without the vielside carving on the headstock face. Also never seen it in blue either.
I need that damn T-shirt dude.. also, as always, great video 🤘 Edit : I'm sorry for not commenting more on your most recent videos, I've had my 7 year old son with me lately and have so little time to myself 😂
I own the first one (Silver/champagne metallic one). It's for me more a pre-amp like the one you get in a Marshall valvestate solid state amp. The Beringer Vintage tube monster is also the same (i own also that one). And it's also huge! 😉
@@DomeNightbearer Yep, and it's way more cheaper! The tube king costs at that time 165€ new, a Beringer about 55€ new! The first tube king has a switchable noise supressor that also van be adjusted. Same like with the Beringer.
I think you made it sound much better when you were tweaking it into the Axe FX before you made the final test. You could've also used a power amp simulation as well. That would've helped. I own this same pedal and it's great with a good overdrive and the right amp or cab IR. The power adapter is HARD to get since it's so weird so take care of it guys. Been looking for a replacement for months.
I used to have one of these and it put out some good sounds after I swapped the tube for a 12AU7, but I always hated the shape of it. The tube is run at high volrage though. I pawned it for twice what it was actually worth. 😆 Now I use a Victory V4 Kraken preamp and that thing pretty much smokes any other tube pedal I've ever played through.
Wow.i effin love that guitar.i almost bought one in left-handed way back in the day when they 1rst came out.vadass guitar brother.very very cool.i love your channel bro.
I thought it sounded surprisingly good. The casing is beyond stupid it could have been much more compact. So little is gained using a single tube over a JFET. It is on the whole merely a decorative novelty.
This pedal is amazing if you run a boost/OD in front of it. ALSO it uses AC not DC power adapter. The void IS a noise gate. Don't use this like a boost for the front of your amp. And I like the design so 🖕🏻😂

No, I haven't tried this pedal yet. DIY-pedals are cool, but I have no patience to buiöd them 😅

No problem, dude, enjoy the videos and the family time of course 😉

However I kinda liked the Behringer more 😅

Van would be can (damn auto correct! 😅).
what's the software your using to analyze the frequency response?

And look for US/UK/EU plug variant
What does it do when you run it through a solid state head
Gave me some ideas for sure.

how do you test the EQ response like that? by running white noise through it?
pink noise actually 😉

Lol with this riffs, you make, put on: Lo 100%, Mid 0%, Hi 100% and knob HI put OFF. Just wana listen what result is. I think its most HEAVY sound ;)
Wow.that pedal is gnarly I gotta say at least.pretty cool I agree.good job.might be an excellent stacking pedal.seems like it could.

And still Danelectro remains the Champion of Disgusting-Looking Pedal Chassis.
True😅

Tubular
Loved the sound, definitely has an orange vibe, just the design is shit lol
