Hey Gene. I didn't know you were a Vet. Retired Army MP here. Glad to see a fellow veteran doing what you love and making it. Been watching you for many years now. Love all your videos. Keep on fishin brother
Thanks for the review! FSR is definitely the premium manufacturer of roof top tents. While the RTT is minimalist for those who prefer RVs, it is LUXURIOUS for us former Scoutmasters who have spent YEARS on the ground in tents.
Hello I’m a young 12 year old angler and I want to start getting into more tournaments but it’s hard because all the competition is older people. And I’ve been trying to learn how to find good spots just like the older people. So do you have a recommendation on how I should place higher in these Tuesday night tournaments.
Some things just take time buddy, but your on the right track anyway, you fish long enough and you will start noticing certain things that always seem to happen, i.e. you notice the fish feeding like crazy in pre-frontal conditions, or that your spinnerbaits tend to produce better on cloudy days with a little wind blowing etc. Pair those little things up with an improved idea of what seasonal influences are being brought to bear on the fish and you'll start getting a better idea of WHERE to throw the techniques that match up to the conditions your seeing. You'll probably fail a whole bunch of times early on, and that's OK, you will learn a lot from the days where everything goes wrong, embrace those days as a part of the process and don't give up, you'll get there one day
Watch the old guys……do what they do. Learn from their decades of experience. Ask LOTS of questions. Some of the competitive guys may not tell you much, but the ones that do……..listen to em. The only ways to learn what old guys know is to ask em…….or get old.
How's the tent do on top of that Leer shell? Which model shell is it? I have a 100XR on my truck and I'm trying to decide if it can handle a ~150lbs RTT up there.
Hi If you see this that would be amazing I live two or three houses away from you I have seen your fluke master UA-cam van so many times and it is crazy to know that a big UA-camr lives in my small town me and my dad saw your wife walking the road and we got to talk to her it is just crazy although I have not met you yet and do you have any recommendations besides Rocky Mountain
Depends on how often you will use it. If you're going to buy it as a toy to use twice then it might be steep to you. If I use it every weekend for two deer seasons, it is worth it to me. There are really good bed tents for way cheaper too. We don't all have popular youtube channels. Lol.

I love how quick that is to break down. Thanks for the review.
My RTT is hands down the best investment I've made when it comes to tournament fishing. Glad you're enjoying yours!
Love it man! I camp in my truck cap all the time
Them clam shell tents really are the way to go.
Been waiting for another video! Hope all Is well Gene! Great video, I may need to get me one of those tents.

For as much as you camp why not go with a teardrop or hiker? I’m debating which way to go myself. Great video as usual.
I love watching the videos buddy God bless be safe keep fishing
Thanks. Very informative review.
Good video Gene keep up the good work
I’m 40 w a beer belly how do you wake up in the morning compared to sleeping on the ground w an air mattress
Hey Gene, does storing rods upright against a wall for an extended amount of time cause a permanent bend in them?

I have the odyssey and a 100xr on my Colorado and have had no issues and I go off road quite often
Love this!
I saw ur car at the orthodontist today in Rome ga
I've been thinking about one of these, but setting it up to be on top of a kayak trailer, any advantage or disadvantage either way?
Nice.👍

You could have said Georgia fire ants and you had me. Man those things suck!
Will this fit on an suv roof rack or only a truck?
Check weight limit for your roof rack. If it can handle the static (and dynamic) loads, you're good to go.
Have your custom trailer guy make a kayak trailer with a teardrop camper in front.
$3500+ kind of steep.
It's is pricy but I see it like this. That's less than what I'll spend to sleep 30 nights in a hotel.
"kind of" ?!?! -- lol

@@Flukemaster that's a really good point. I guess I saw the price and thought "my wife will kill me"
