I studied reflexology as part of my complementary therapies course several years ago. (I actually took the course to become a massage therapist).
No word of a lie, I was blown away by reflexology. The knowledge has been well known in the far east for thousands of years. It’s extraordinary. While I was running my own business from home, I advised one client that I could feel something on the ‘breast area’ of her foot, and that it might be worth getting a GP app. She did, they sent her for a mammogram and a small cancerous lump was found deep behind her nipple. Very early stages.
A friend’s husband (complete sceptic), had just been having tests for something before he came to see me while I was practising. He wouldn’t tell me what or where, he wanted to see if I could ‘get it.’ Straightaway I felt the ‘heart area’ wasn’t right. (Which was correct). I assure you, it’s real. (FYI, the cost of living and trying to run a business from my home was too stressful for me, so I only do it for free on myself, family and friends now, so have absolutely no reason to BS).

      Whether "real or not", idk.
But I would imagine it would be more useful as a treatment for a known or suspected ailment as opposed to a diagnosis process.
Example: someone has severe sinus/respiratory issues, so you work the tops of toes with pressure points.
Or if someone cannot have an area physically worked on because of a recent invasive procedure, say a gallbladder removal, you could work the lower mid side of the right foot (i think?), to promote healing in that corresponding area.
Whether reflexology is "real", i don't really care. This video is amazing, soothing, educational and I like learning so that if I have a close loved one that needs some comfort, i could maybe at the very least give them a foot rub. 💜

I’m nearly 50 years old and I’m old and wise and real beauty comes from within and radiates from you like sunbeams. I get that some people are frightened of disfigurement and that’s understandable but to take it one step further and espouse views about goodness based upon genetics is not what I think we should be about and it got to me and I want to go one step further and say sorry as I should have understood why she said the things she said.

OMG, there is absolutely no scientific, biological or physical evidence that "pats of the body" are connected to the foot. What quackery. This should be illegal, it's all in the mind. Risk to life in claiming parts of the body "feel good to me" when in fact they may not..unless she has an MRI/CAT scanner in her fingers. And on the topic of minds, this is definitely relaxing once she stops spouting nonsense and starts narrating her work as she goes across the foot, relaxing voice I'll agree.
